摘要
江苏教育会是中国近现代最具影响力的教育团体之一。五四运动前后,江苏教育会为扩大影响力,逐渐将势力扩展到北京教育界,形成了教育界“南北争竞”的情势。1919年江苏教育会通过声援五四运动壮大其在北京的影响,并借“留蔡助蒋”事件正式布局北京教育界。此后,在邀请杜威和孟禄访华、北高师校长风潮、制定新学制、支持北京教育界索薪等事件中,江苏教育会都深度参与,试图全面引领中国教育的走向。但自1925年东大风潮后,江苏教育会不仅势力大大收缩,更背负“学阀”骂名,在时局变动下最终走向崩溃。
Jiangsu Education Association is one of the most influential education groups in modern China. Around the May 4th Movement, Jiangsu Education Association gradually expanded its influence on the education circle of Beijing, forming the fierce competition between the north and the south in the education circle of China. In 1919, Jiangsu Education Association intended to expand its influence in Beijing by expressing support for the May 4th Movement, and officially deployed its development in Beijing by the chance of “retaining Cai Yuanpei on his post while appointing Jiang Menglin” incident. Later, Jiangsu Education Association was deeply engaged in such incidents as inviting Dewey and Monroe to visit China, the campus upheaval about changing the president at Beijing Higher Normal School, preparation of new school system and supporting the education circle of Beijing to ask for pay, trying to lead the trend of China’s education. However, after the campus upheaval of Southeast University in 1925, Jiangsu Education Association not only saw its influence shrank, but also was insulted as “scholar-tyrant”, finally falling apart in a volatile situation.
