"阀"字含义随历史发展不断变迁,到宋代表意功能大致完善,"军阀"也首次在这个时期出现。研究"军阀"古义形成经常引用的"阀阅"左右之说是错的,"阀阅"最初指乌头门的两颗柱子,后来演化成指代特定规格的乌头门。宋文献中的"军阀"指的是军功。这个涵义为后来的文献所沿用,与近代"军阀"的含义不相通。近代意义的"军阀"从日本引入,在中国又加以本土化。但从渊源上来说,近代意义的"军阀"是"阀"字词义演化的一个发展阶段。
The meaning of Fa（ 阀 ）changed according to the history development, and its expression func tion had been fairly perfect in Song Dynasty, and Junfa was used firstly in this time. The left-fight phrase of Fayue （ 阀阅 ） was wrong which was usually cited in studying the origin of the ancient meaning of Junfa, and Fayue originally was the two pillars of Wutoumen （乌头门）, and later be come a special Wutoumen. The meaning of Junfa in the documents of Song Dynasty was the mil itary achievement, and this meaning was inherited in later documents, and it had no common with the modem meaning of Junfa. The modern meaning of Junfa came from Japanese, and was changed to meet the demand of Chinese. Originally, the modem meaning of Junfa is a developperiod of the meaning of Fa.
