摘要
翻译中坚持"文化自觉"意识有利于弘扬民族文化自信,也有利于揭示很多译论争端的根源。以英国阿诺德与纽曼翻译论战、中国鲁迅与梁实秋翻译论战对比为例,从社会文化背景、学术渊源、直接动因与目的等方面的异同考察发现,文化自觉意识差异决定了译者的翻译选材与翻译策略选择,也是导致翻译批评的根源。翻译中所应具备的文化自觉意识要从宏观上有文化"自知之明"与"他知之明",从微观上还要有语言自觉,这样才能真正展现文化自信。
Under the trend of Chinese culture ＂going global＂ strategy,advocating the consciousness of ＂cultural awareness＂ in translation is conducive to the promotion of national cultural confidence as well as revealing the cause of many translation disputes.A comparison between the Arnold-Newman translation debate and Lu Xun-Liang Shiqiu debate from the perspectives of social and cultural backgrounds,academic origins,direct motivations and goals shows that,the differences in cultural consciousness among translation activities bring about profound influence on translation selection,choice of translation strategies,and translation criticism.Such influences reveal that cultural self-confidence in translation needs to be based on the cultural＂self-knowledge＂and＂knowledge of others＂as well as language consciousness in translation practice.
