摘要
世界一流大学何以一流,不同的学者有不同的答案。通过访谈斯坦福大学教育学院院长施瓦兹·单,我们或许能得出若干启示:就人才培养而言,强调教师与学生建立一种密切的师徒关系,同时鼓励学生去冒险,允许他们犯错误;就教师发展而言,强调同行在教师晋升中的基础作用,更看重论文质量本身,而非课题或杂志;就院长职责而言,强调以教师为本的理念和全心全意为教师服务的意识。
Why world-class universities are world-class,different scholars have different answers.By interviewing with dean Schwartz Dan of Stanford Graduate School of Education,we may get such implications as follows:As to talent cultivation,the world-class universities emphasize the close relationship between student and faculty,encourage students to take risks and allow them to make mistakes;As to faculty development,they pay attention to the peers' fundamental role in promotion,and emphasize the quality of paper itself rather than projects or journals;As to the responsibility of the dean,they emphasize the idea of faculty-orientation and the awareness of serving the faculty whole-heartedly.
