摘要
目前国内大部分高校实行大学英语分级教学,文化课是普遍开设的大学英语拓展选修课程。该课程以增进大学生的世界文化知识,提高跨文化交际能力为目的,在实践中取得较好的教学效果,也出现一些问题。问题主要有:课程设置仍难满足学生的个性化需求,教学内容中的中西文化各方面如何取舍,教学方法上怎样保证学生课堂参与度,以及教材严重缺乏。建议应对策略为细化班级划分,缩小班级规模,调整教学内容与方式以最大限度满足学生的个性化学习需求,以及开发适用的文化选修课教材。
Culture course for non-English majors is now a commonly seen elective course in most Chinese universities and colleges that practice graded English teaching, aiming to increase students＇ knowledge about world culture and improve their ability of trans-cultural communication. While the course has achieved satisfactory results, problems should not be ignored, namely, how to fur-ther adjust the course to meet the students＇ individual needs, which aspects of western and Chinese cultures should be included in the teaching plan, how to ensure each student＇s participation in the class and the shortage of suitable textbooks. Solutions should be narrowing down the division of classes, decreasing the scale of classes, adjusting the teaching content and mode to satisfy students＇ individual needs to the most degree, and developing appropriate textbooks.
