摘要
孟子提出的"以意逆志"和"知人论世"作为古代文学批评的重要方法,有其合理性:人心相通、诗言志的传统、意在言外的审美追求;但也有其局限性:作者与作品的矛盾、读者之"意"与作者之"志"的矛盾、作品多义性与作者之志唯一性的矛盾、作者之志被道德化的狭隘性。只有准确地理解"以意逆志"和"知人论世"的内涵,才能科学地发挥其对当下古代文学批评的指导意义。
As an important method in ancient literary criticism, using one's understanding to trace back the writer's mind and knowing the person and considering his times have their rationalities: the heart is interlinked; the tradition of expressing ambitions in poems; and the meaning is implied. But they also have their limitations: contradictions of writer and work, of reader's understanding and the ideal of writer, of the ambiguities of work and the uniqueness of writer's ideal and the parochialism of making writer's ideal moral. Only by accurately understanding the connotation of the two can we scientifically play its guiding significance to the present ancient literature criticism.
