Harmonic analysis of earth tides using the tiltmeter records taken at the Changshu, Jiangsu Seismic Station and its efficiency in earthquake prediction

摘要 选择江苏省常熟地震台SQ -70型石英水平摆倾斜仪EW和SN方向 1 985~ 1 998年的固体潮观测资料 ,采用Venedikov调和分析方法计算 ,提取了倾斜固体潮全日波 (O1)和半日波 (M2 )的潮汐因子γ及相位滞后因子△φ值 ,分析了其在江苏中强地震前的变化特征 。 An analysis has been made of the 1985-1998 earth tide observation data recorded by the SQ-70-type quartz horizontal pendulum tiltmeter in the EW and NS directions at the Changshu, Jiangsu Seismic Station, using the Venedikov harmonic analysis method Values of the tidal factor γ and the phase-delay factor △φ have been determined for the diurnal constituent (O 1) and the semidiurnal constituent (M2) of the tilt earth tides As a result, some features of the tilt variations prior to some moderate earthquakes in Jiangsu Province have been revealed Hence, it is considered that the harmonic analysis method of the earth tides shows rather good efficiency in earthquake prediction
