摘要
"底层叙事"是近年来学界盛行的一种文学理论,用以解读文学创作中对底层的关注。但是这一文学流派的源头是20世纪30年代的现实主义,斯坦贝克无疑是这种"底层叙事"的代表人物。由于受"非目的论"和普世情感哲学观的影响,斯坦贝克不愿意将自己的创作用于表现"劳资冲突"的政治宣传,而是对各类阶级中的底层人物的命运进行关注,从而被誉为一个伟大的具有普世情感的作家。
＂Subalterm class narration＂ is a theory currently used by literary scholars to study the concern for subalterm class people.But the origin of the literary concern should be traced back to the 1930s,in which John Steinbeck was the representative of the Subalterm class narration.Influenced by non-teleological thinking and universal love philosophy,Steinbeck was unwilling to make his novels a mere prapaganda of the proletarian-capitalist conflict.Instead,he showed great concern for lower people of the different classes.For this,Steinbeck was regarded as a great writer who cherished universal love for human beings.
