摘要
建设空间站是人类探索外层空间的重要步骤。美、俄、欧、日、加等国联合运营的国际空间站将于2010年建成,并延续到2020年。中国的载人空间站将于2020年升空。本文回顾了空间站的主要历史,概述了美国在国际空间站上10年(1998—2008)的工作,分析了空间站可能对人类做出的贡献,介绍了美国新政府对载人航天任务的新选择,最后借鉴国外发展空间站的经验教训,提出了我国研制空间站应注意的问题。
The construction of space station is an important step in the outerspace manned exploration. The International Space Station （ISS） operated jointly by the USA, Russia, Europe, Japan, Canada and other countries will be completed in the 2010, and extended to 2020. The Manned Space Station of China will be launched in 2020. The present paper has reviewed the main history of the space station, summarized the researches organized in the 10 years （1998 - 2008） in the ISS by NASA, analyzed the possible contribution of ISS to the mankind, introduced the new selections of the USA new government for manned space missions, and in the last, proposed the careful issues for developing the space station of China based on the experiences and lessons of space station abroad.

胡文瑞 中科院院士，中科院力学研究所研究员。1958年毕业于北京大学数学力学系流体力学专业。毕业后到中科院力学所跟随郭永怀先生从事磁流体力学研究，1973年开始从事天体物理和空间物理研究，1986年参加“863-2”专家委员会，并转入微重力科学研究。1992年负责载人航天工程论证组利用系统。20年来，参加了一些微重力科学的课题研究和项目组织。1995年被选为中科院院士，1996年被选为国际宇航科学院院士。E-mail：wrhu@imech．ac．cn
