Objective To study the expression of survivin, p53 protein and cyclinD1 and their relationships in breast carcinoma. Methods Survivin, p53 protein and CyclinDl were detected by using immunohistochemical two step method. Results The positive expression rates of survivin and p53 and cyclinD1 protein were 78.76% and 35.7% and 71.4% in breast Carcinoma. The positive expression rate of CyclinD1 protein was 90.9% in the 44 breast carcinoma tissues of positive expression of Survivin protein. The positive expression rate of CyclinD1 protein was 0% in the 12 breast carcinoma tissues of negative expression of Survivin protein. The expression of Survivin was positively correlated with expression of CyclinD1 (α =0. 6531, P 〈 0.05). The positive expression rate of CyclinD1 protein was 75% in the 20 breast carcinoma tissues of positive expression of p53 protein. The positive expression rate of CyclinD1 protein was 69.4% in the 36 breast carcinoma tissues of negative expression of p53 protein. The expression of P53 was negatively correlated with expression of CyclinD1 (P 〉 0.05 ). Survivin, p53 Protein and cyclinD1 was not expressed in fibroadenoma of breast cancer. Conclusion Suvivin protein might play an important role in the oncogenesis and development of beast cancer. Survivin might be closely associated with division and proliferation of breast cancer cells. P53 and CyclinD1 might be associated with the oncogenesis and development of beast cancer.
