摘要
In June to September 2007,the Collaborative Sino-Mongolian Archaeological Team carried out excavation in the No.1 Uighur cemetery at Khulhiin Am in Khotont Sum of Arkhangai Province,Mongolia.Outside the eastern earthen wall of the cemetery,they discovered a Xiongnu earthen-pit tomb with a stone circle on the barrow,which yielded a male skeleton lying in an extended supine position and a number of objects peculiar in shape,such as pottery vessels and bone bow-joints,arrowheads and plaques with incised design.Two engraved signs were found on the surface of a bow joint and an arrowhead respectively.The discovery of the tomb provides new clues for researching into the Xiongnu burial custom and their script.
