In order to prevent the harmful of benzene, the effects in workers exposed to low-level benzene were investigated. [Methods]Air samples of benzene from workplace and occupational health data of workers exposed to benzene and control's workers were collected of 2 Corporations. [Results]Results showed that the air benzene levels of workplace in 2 factories were 1.03 and 1.93 mg/m^3, respectively, and these concentrations were lower than the Pemissible Concentration-Short Term Exposure Limit. The incidence of clinical symptems, electrocardiogram, X-ray, blood pressure in exposed were not significantly from controls( P )0.05). The decrease proportion of peripheral-blood white blood cell count in exposed workers(31 cases, 27.0 % ) were significantly higher than controls( P〈 0.01), and the white blood cell decrease has no different from various ages and length of service in exposed workers. [Conclusion]The low-level benzene is harmful to exposed workers.
