摘要
福克纳的小说文本以繁复著称,但繁复只是他的语言风格的主要一面,并不能概括其风格的全貌。福克纳的风格还有简洁的一面,见于他的众多短篇小说、几部在短篇基础上生成的长篇小说和长短篇里的对话部分。本文从语言学角度考察,以文学语言的象似性来辨析福克纳语言的多样化特征。
Faulkner’s literary texts are well-known for their luxuriance and elaborateness, which, however, is the main rather than the whole picture. His style has also the side of simplicity and lucidity that is seen in his numerous short stories, some of his novels based on stories as well as in the section of his dialogues in fiction long and short. Observed from the angle of linguistics, this paper tries to argue that Faulkner’s stylistic features are typical examples of linguistic iconicity.
