Based on the location of ancient Chinese first person pronoun wo and wu in the sentence's,the difference between wo and wu is analyzed according to the Theory of Focus.Different purpose of semantic expression causes the pronunciation of the first person pronoun wo to split to stressed and unstressed forms, and wu derives from its weak form. The phonetic change principle of wo and wu provides us a standard of examining the rationality of the reconstruction of ancient Chinese wo and wu.wo weakening to wu stands for a phonetic change tendency in history. The Theory of Focus is of application value in historical linguistics study.
