Playing the role of the author agent,Margaret Atwood guides her reader to identify with Grace and thus controls the reader's ethical judgment in the subtext of Alias Grace.Moreover,she develops a new approach to understanding history,subverts the patriarchal historical narrative with Grace's narrative,and liberates women from the shackles of Victorian gender and class ideologies.
