本文借鉴功能语言学提出的及物性理论 ,探讨英语语言中所演化出来的几种掩饰动因手段 ,旨在帮助人们洞察语言使用者 (尤其是政客 )
In the light of the transitivity theory put forward by the functional linguistics,this paper is intended to explore some major linguistic strategies in English that are often employed by people(e.g.,politicians)to undercut agency of events.In this way,the political motive or ideology encoded by these strategies can be laid bare.
