摘要
基于BROWN、LOB和WECCL中的语料,考察了doubt在这两类语料库的出现频率、搭配等,结果表明doubt及其派生词的使用频率在英式英语和美式英语中存在显著差异,doubt的一些常见用法和搭配会被中国学生忽视,母语使用者和中国EFL学习者对于doubt的搭配倾向也一定程度上反映了文化差异,这些主要源于学生的语言输入并非完全取材于真实的语言材料,因此,认为基于真实语言的语料库有助于词典和教材编写、计算机辅助教学以及学生的自主学习.
Based on the data in LOB&BROWN and WECCL,this study focuses on the frequency and collocations of the word"doubt".The findings are as follows:significant differences of doubt and its derivatives can be seen in British English and American English;some common collocations and usages are neglected by Chinese students;the varied collocations of doubt used by native speakers and EFL learners reflect cultural differences to a degree.All this can be attributed to the fact that not all the language input is based on authentic English language.Therefore,corpora based on authentic language will benefit the compilation of dictionary and textbooks,computer-assisted teaching and autonomous learning of students.
