摘要
近代以来,中国人自身在现代转型过程中出现了中国人与现代人之间的紧张。培养现代人处理的乃是个体成人的古今问题,也即如何处理传统与现代的关系问题;培养中国人处理的乃是个体成人的民族个性问题,也即如何处理民族与世界的关系问题。培养现代人是要解决生存适应问题,培养中国人是要应对民族身份危机与永续发展问题。今天,当我们逐步解决了生存适应问题而转向全面发展与社会进步之时,我们必须完成我们作为中国人的现代化,我们做好现代人的前提恰恰是我们“做中国人”,我们不能做缺少了民族文化内涵的、空心的现代人。这里的关键问题就是中国人如何自新于现代,也即做“现代中国人”。
Since the modern era,Chinese people are facing modern transformation.Cultivating modern people deals with the ancient-modern problems of becoming an individual,that is,how to deal with the relationship between tradition and modernity;cultivating Chinese people deals with the national personality of an individual,that is,how to deal with the relationship between the nation and the world.Cultivating the modern people is to solve the problem of survival and adaptation,while cultivating Chinese people is to deal with the problem of national identity crisis and sustainable development.Today,we must complete our modernization as Chinese people;and the prerequisite to be modern people is to“be Chinese”.The key question is how Chinese people can renew themselves in modernity,that is,to be“modern Chinese”.
