摘要本文以2013—2016年深圳证券交易所上市公司为样本,实证检验机构投资者调研对企业风险承担的影响。实证结果表明,机构投资者调研显著抑制了企业风险承担。随着机构调研详细程度的提高和被调研企业对调研事件重视程度的增强,企业风险承担水平明显降低。股东与管理层之间的代理成本越高,机构投资者调研对企业风险承担的负面影响越显著。本文区分机构投资者异质性后发现,券商和基金类机构投资者调研活动对企业风险承担的抑制作用更为显著。渠道测试显示,机构投资者调研活动主要通过降低企业的负债水平来抑制风险承担。本文拓展了关于机构投资者调研的经济后果以及企业风险承担影响因素的研究,对于监管部门完善机构投资者调研制度、推动企业平稳健康发展具有现实启示。 Based on a sample of Chinese listed companies on SZSE from 2013—2016,this paper empirically examines the effect of institutional investors’corporate site visits on corporate risk-taking.The results show that institutional investors’corporate site visits can inhibit corporate risk-taking.The above relationship is more pronounced when the institutional investors make more detailed investigations,and when the companies pay more attention to the investigations.In addition,institutional investors’corporate site visit has a stronger negative impact on corporate risk-taking when the agency cost between shareholder and manager is higher.Considering the heterogeneity of institutional investors,security traders and fund companies’site visits have a more significant inhibiting effect on corporate risk-taking.Channel test reveals that the reduction of debt financing plays a major role in this relationship.This study extends the literature on the economic consequence of institutional investors’corporate site visits and the determinants of corporate risktaking.This study also has policy implications for regulators to improve institutional investors’corporate site visit system and promote the steady development of enterprises.
