摘要
莫言小说《生死疲劳》中的乡土歌谣兼具多种功能。译者葛浩文用直译法、省译法和意译法成功地翻译了《生死疲劳》中的乡土歌谣,他的翻译原则可总结为:1)保留乡土歌谣的异质文化;2)呈现乡土歌谣的全方位语义对应;3)实现乡土歌谣的美学意味。葛浩文的翻译为中国文化"走出去"提供了有益的启示,要成功地翻译中国文化,译者需要饱含激情翻译中国文化,需要对目标读者有强烈的责任感,需要与原作者密切沟通。
Local ballads perform different functions in Mo Yan’s novel Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out.Such local ballads are successfully translated into English by Howard Goldblatt adopting methods like literal translation,omission and free translation.The overall translation principles of Goldblatt can be summarized as follows:1)retaining the heterogeneous culture of local ballads;2)presenting the semantic correspondence of local ballads comprehensively;3)expressing the aesthetic mood of local ballads.Goldblatt’s translation provides useful enlightenment for Chinese culture to go global by showing that to translate Chinese culture successfully,translators need to work with passion and stay responsible to the target readers as well as communicate closely with the original author.
