摘要
英国历史学者菲利普·费尔南德兹—阿迈斯托的历史研究从最初的西班牙史转移到全球史,并形成了独特的全球史书写风格。阿迈斯托尤其注重文明之间的交流与互动,在他看来,帝国为跨区域乃至全球规模的文明交流搭建了舞台。得益于欧亚大陆两端的巨型帝国,东西方文明进行大规模的交流成为可能。新航路的开辟以及不断扩展的殖民帝国,在建立不平等世界秩序的同时,也构建了全球文明交流的框架,塑造了当代世界的基本格局。他将宏观视野和微观叙事相结合,向读者展示了一幅全球视野下帝国兴衰与文明变迁的历史画卷。
British historian Felipe Fernández-Armesto has devoted his life to historical research,shifting his research focus from the original Spanish history to global history,and developed a unique style in global history writing.Armesto pays special attention to the exchange and interaction between civilizations.In his view,the empire has built a stage for the exchange of civilizations on a cross-regional and even global scale.Thanks to the giant empires on both ends of the Eurasian continent,large-scale exchanges between Eastern and Western civilizations have become possible.The opening of new shipping routes and the ever-expanding colonial empire,while establishing an unequal world order,have constructed a framework for global civilization exchanges and shaped the basic pattern of the contemporary world.He combines the macro vision and the micro narrative to present readers a history of civilization development from a global perspective.
