摘要
本文探讨了中国大学英语教学改革中通用英语向学术英语的转变。学术英语教学以内容为依托,以专业知识为导向,结合多种教学方法。学术英语课程成为学生人才培养和教育过程中的一部分。与通用英语教学相对比,教学过程中教师角色发生转变,教师承担学生思想的启发者、人才培养的实践者和推动者等新角色。本文分析了教师角色的变化对大学英语教师形成诸多挑战,如教师知识结构和科研能力不足,学生英语水平不高和学习方法不当等。本文提出大学英语教师需要采取提高自身专业认知水平和科研能力,借助团队力量,积极参加培训,确立研究方向等策略,有效应对挑战,成功实现教师角色转变。
EAP(English for Academic Purposes)learning and teaching is content-based,specialized-knowledge-guided,and in combination with a variety of teaching methods.EAP course has engaged in the process of talent development of the country,accordingly,compared with EGP(English for General Purposes)learning and teaching,the role of teachers in EAP learning and teaching has changed.Teachers take on new roles such as inspiration for students’thinking,practitioners and promoters of talent education.The change of teachers’roles poses challenges to college English teachers.College English teachers need to adopt strategies including improving professional cognitive level and academic research ability,relying on team strength,participating in training programs,establishing research directions,etc.to effectively cope with the challenges so as to realize the change of teachers’roles.
