摘要
传播符号学是费斯克于20世纪80年代初将符号学正式引入传播学之后形成的研究范畴,在其被自觉地建立起来之前,有着较长的"史前史",尤其是巴尔特将符号研究从语言转向其他媒介的符号之意义生产时,传播学与符号学的交叉研究就已然展开。传播学者们自觉地以传播学为本体、以符号学模式为路径而展开的理论建构,发生在符号学的"生物学转向"之后。符号学作为一门"学说"而非"学科",因其和传播学共同经历的范式演变和共有的文化传播批判机制而得以结合:在从结构主义转向后结构主义思潮的影响下,传播符号学从以信息和文本为中心,转向了对传播过程中的差异性和对话性的研究,并将偶然性、风险性等动态要素纳入了对系统的考察,从而形成了四种不同的研究范式。
The tradition of communication studies from perspective of semiotics was formally initiated by John Fiske in the early 1980’s and then has developed into a branch study in communication.There was a long"pre-history"of the interdisciplinary study of semiotics and communication,marked by Roland Bathe’s inquiry into the meaning generation of signs and texts of different media,and the awareness of the ontological status of communication in the interdisciplinary study takes its form when the"biological turn"took place in semiotics.As a"doctrine"instead of a"discipline",semiotics shares with communication study,a similar shift in paradigm and critical stand in revealing culture and communication mechanism.Under the influence from structuralism to post-structuralism,semiotic study of communication shifts its focus from the message/text to the differences and dialogues in communication,and the dynamic factors of chances and risks are taken into consideration,thus four research paradigms are established.
