论新闻传播学术语“舆情”一词的翻译 被引量:1

A Study on the Translation of the Term“Public Opinion”in Journalism and Communication Studies

摘要 随着微博、小红书、抖音等社交网络媒体平台的兴起和广泛应用,人类进入了信息大爆炸的时代。现如今,互联网技术的飞速发展使得公民发表言论和参与公共事件讨论的机会越来越多,网络“舆情”也成倍增长,但关于“舆情”一词的英文翻译,目前学界还没有达成共识,没有确定一个统一的译名。然而,术语译名的统一将有利于新闻传播学等学科和“舆情”这一概念的发展和实际应用,因此,文章从“舆情”词源的历史和概念这一角度展开,对“舆情”的英译进行探析,并提出最合适“舆情”的翻译是“Public Opinion”。 With the rise and wide application of social media platforms such as Weibo,Xiaohongshu,and Douyin,human beings have entered the era of information explosion.Nowadays,the rapid development of Internet technology makes citizens have more and more opportunities to express their opinions and participate in the discussion of public events,and online“public opinion”has also multiplied,but there is no consensus among academics to determine a unified translation of the term“public opinion”in English.However,a unified translation of the term would be beneficial to the development and practical application of disciplines such as journalism and communication as well as the concept of“public opinion”.Therefore,the article analyses the English translation of“public opinion”from the perspective of the history and concept of the etymology of the word“public opinion”,and proposes that the most appropriate translation is“Public Opinion”.
