摘要
白璧德的新人文主义为我们理解当代人类媒介化生存提供了思想资源。新人文主义的"超越"价值在于,它以"二元论"问题式提出了"内在生活""崇高意志"和"伦理自我"等重要范畴,并据此批判流行的科学人道主义和泛情人道主义。新人文主义传播观念的精髓在于强调传播的人文性和主体间性,重视培养人的媒介批评素养,倡导政治传播的规范性与社会沟通的公共理性。复兴新人文主义有助于唤醒沉睡已久的传媒业崇高感,防范技术崇拜、尊重人文价值,克服传媒生态意义上的"瓦釜效应"和激情化的网络社会心理。白璧德的思想遗产启示我们要在不确定性时代秉持理性、中正和坚定立场,养成"执两用中"的媒介批评智慧。
Irving Babbitt’s Neo-humanism had provided intellectual resources for us to understand mediatization existence of contemporary human beings.The transcendental value of Neo-humanism lies in the important categories of inner life,higher will and ethical self,which are proposed in the problematic dualism,criticize popular scientific humanitarianism and sentimental humanitarianism.The essence of Neo-humanism communication concept lies in emphasizing the humanism and intersubjectivity of communication,attach importance to the cultivation of media criticism literacy,advocate the regularization of political communication and the public rationality of social communication.The revival of Neo-humanism is helpful to awaken the sense of nobility in the journalism,guard against technology worship,respect human values,overcome the"crock effect"in the sense of media ecology and the passionate network social psychology.Irving Babbitt’s legacy suggests that we should be rational,upright and firm in uncertainty age,forming the wisdom of media criticism with golden mean.
