摘要
本研究基于费尔克拉夫的三维模型,以《华尔街日报》2000年至2019年有关中国对外援助的112则新闻报道为例,分析西方主流媒体如何建构中国国家形象。研究发现,《华尔街日报》通过对关键词的选择,同时利用主位推进模式、霸权野心的预设和隐秘表达观点的话语互文,虚构出中国利用对外援助称霸世界的国家形象。报道中,中国国家形象经历从“不值一提”变为“机会主义”再到“野心勃勃”的变化,形象的建构与变迁折射出,报道中的话语修辞受到意识操纵,他塑形象的建构过程彰显西方媒体的话语霸权。
Based on Fairclough's 3D critical analysis model,this study examines 112 news articles about China's foreign aid published in The Wall Street Journal between 2000 and 2019 to examine how the Western mainstream media constructs China's national image.The study discovers that The Wall Street Journal uses a model of thematic progression,presuppositions of hegemonic ambition,and discursive inter-texts that covertly express views to construct a national image of China's use of foreign aid to dominate the world.In the stories,the image of China's state shifts from"worthless"to"opportunistic"to"ambitious,"reflecting deliberate manipulation of the reporting discourse and highlighting the hegemony of the Western media's discourse.
