摘要
进入21世纪以来,随着移民海外的白领中国家庭明显增多,中国移民儿童的双语发展成为当前研究的热点之一。本文以移民至英国的中国移民家庭为例,探讨中国移民家庭的语言管理,尤其是父母在子女英语发展和母语保存过程中起到的作用。研究显示,中国父母在移民儿童的双语发展过程中起着重要的语言媒介作用。就家庭语言管理而言,移民父母应努力提升自己的英语能力,了解英国教育体系,融入英国社会,为移民儿童双语发展搭建桥梁。就母语保存而言,应优先保存移民儿童的母语认同和中华文化认同。在母语教学中,父母可选择英国小说或故事的中译本,缩小中西方文本潜在的语义差异。
Since 21st century,Chinese white-collar families have increasingly migrated overseas.Chinese migrant children’s bilingual development has become a hot topic accordingly.By taking Chinese migrant families in Britain as major cases,this paper investigates their language management,especially parents’influence on Chinese migrant children’s English development and mother tongue maintenance.This research shows that these parents are significant mediators in their children’s bilingual development.In terms of family language management,Chinese parents should enhance their English ability,explore British education system and get engaged in English society.In this way,they can familiarize their children with the local culture.In terms of mother tongue maintenance,these parents should give priority to their children’s identification with their mother tongue and Chinese culture.While teaching Chinese,parents should select Chinese translated version of English novels in order to reduce the semantic differences.
