Aesthetic Response in the Era of Technopoly:Neil Postman’s Aesthetic Thoughts on Media Ecology

摘要以《娱乐至死》闻名世界的美国媒介批评家尼尔·波兹曼,将"媒介"置于"生态学"之前,率先提出了"媒介生态学"的概念。20世纪60年代末以来,波兹曼在推进媒介生态学学科化和制度化的同时,积极回应技术垄断时代的核心问题,形成了独具特色的媒介美学思想,推动了媒介生态学美学思想的发展。具体来说,波兹曼的媒介生态学美学思想主要包括以下几个方面:以"个人所作"和"文化所为"作为对技术与文化分裂危机的主动回应;在尝试修正麦克卢汉"媒介即信息"命题过程中提出"媒介隐喻论";在印刷媒介创造的"思想的美学"之后复活"图像的美学";对"媒介生态学"感性内涵的深入挖掘。 Neil Postman,an American media critic who is world-famous for Amusing Ourselves to Death,merged"media"and"ecology"and pioneered the concept of"Media Ecology".Since the end of the 1960 s,while promoting the disciplinary and institutionalization of Media Ecology,Postman has actively responded to the core issues of the era of technopoly,forming unique Media Aesthetics and promoting the development of Aesthetics of Media Ecology.Specifically,Postman’s Media Ecology Aesthetics mainly includes the following aspects:using"what the individual can do"and"what the culture can do"as reasonable solutions to the crisis of technological and cultural division;attempting to use"the medium is the metaphor"as an amendment to McLuhan’s"the medium is the message";after the"Aesthetics of thought"created by the print media,the revival of"Image Aesthetics";the deep exploration of the perceptual connotation of"Media Ecology".
