Atmospheric transmission algorithm for pulsed X-rays from high-altitude nuclear detonations based on scattering correction

In high-altitude nuclear detonations,the proportion of pulsed X-ray energy can exceed 70%,making it a specific monitoring signal for such events.These pulsed X-rays can be captured using a satellite-borne X-ray detector following atmospheric transmission.To quantitatively analyze the effects of different satellite detection altitudes,burst heights,and transmission angles on the physical processes of X-ray transport and energy fluence,we developed an atmospheric transmission algorithm for pulsed X-rays from high-altitude nuclear detonations based on scattering correction.The proposed method is an improvement over the traditional analytical method that only computes direct-transmission X-rays.The traditional analytical method exhibits a maximum relative error of 67.79% compared with the Monte Carlo method.Our improved method reduces this error to within 10% under the same conditions,even reaching 1% in certain scenarios.Moreover,its computation time is 48,000 times faster than that of the Monte Carlo method.These results have important theoretical significance and engineering application value for designing satellite-borne nuclear detonation pulsed X-ray detectors,inverting nuclear detonation source terms,and assessing ionospheric effects. 展开更多

The eoercivities of the MnBi/Bi film are 1.5 T and 2.35 T at room temperature and at 373K, respectively, showing a positive temperature coefficient. It is found that ASSFM must be used to solve GNLSE to ensure precision when the soliton selffrequency shift is remarkable and the photonic crystal fibre (PCF) parameters vary with the frequency considerably. The precision of numerical simulation by using ASSFM is higher than that by using split-step Fourier method in the process of laser pulse propagation in PCFs due to the fact that the variation of fibre parameters with the peak frequency in the pulse spectrum can be taken into account fully. 展开更多

In this work, we use the 2D complex Ginzburg-Landau equation (CGLE) as our model and find that an initially big spiral can successfully transfer to several small spirals by applying a pulse array method. The impacts of several important factors, such as array density, controlling intensity and pulsing time, are investigated. This control approach may be useful for the control of 2D spatiotemporal patterns and has potential applications in the control of some realistic systems, such as meteorological and cardiac systems. 展开更多

A method for analyzing the dynamic energy spectrum of intense pulsed ion beam(IPIB) was proposed.Its influence on beam energy deposition in metal target was studied with IPIB produced by two types of magnetically insulated diodes(MID).The emission of IPIB was described with space charge limitation model,and the dynamic energy spectrum was further analyzed with time-of-flight method.IPIBs generated by pulsed accelerators of BIPPAB-450(active MID) and TEMP-4M(passive MID) were studied.The dynamic energy spectrum was used to deduce the power density distribution of IPIB in the target with Monte Carlo simulation and infrared imaging diagnostics.The effect on the distribution and evolution of thermal field induced by the characteristics of IPIB dynamic energy spectrum was discussed. 展开更多

A novel two-dimensional (2D) simulation method of positive corona current pulses is proposed. A control-volume- based finite element method (CV-FEM) is used to solve continuity equations, and the Galerkin finite element method (FEM) is used to solve Poisson's equation. In the proposed method, photoionization is considered by adopting an exact Helmholtz photoionization model. Furthermore, fully implicit discretization and variable time step are used to ensure the time-efficiency of the present method. Finally, the method is applied to a positive rod-plane corona problem. The numerical results are in agreement with the experimental results, and the validity of the proposed method is verified. 展开更多

This paper studies numerically the thermo-mechanical effects of ZrO2 thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) irradiated by a high-intensity pulsed ion beam in consideration of the surface structure. Taking the deposited energy of ion beams in TBCs as the source term in the thermal conduction equation, the distribution of temperature in TBCs was simulated. Then, based on the distribution, the evolution of thermal stress was calculated by the finite element method. The results show that tensile radial stress formed at the valley of TBC surfaces after irradiation by HIPIB. Therefore, if cracks happen, they must be at valleys instead of peaks. As for the stress waves, no matter whether through peak or valley position, tensile and compressive stresses are present alternately inside TBCs along the depth direction, and the strength of stress decreases with time. 展开更多

Trapezoidal pulse shaping algorithm is widely applied to improve signal-to-noise ratio(SNR), throughput and energy resolution with the properties of noise suppression, pile-up pulse separation and ballistic deficit correction. The algorithm can be acquired by z transform method which is easier for derivation. However, the baseline drift of trapezoidal pulse appears because the noise superimposes on the input signal. In this paper,two new methods based on convergence analysis and noise suppression are proposed to remove the baseline drift resulting from trapezoidal pulse shaping. Simulations and experimental tests are carried out to verify the methods. The results demonstrate that the proposed methods can remove baseline drift in trapezoidal pulse shaping. 展开更多

Interaction between high-intensity pulsed ion beam (HIPIB) and a double-layer target with titanium film on top of aluminum substrate was simulated. The two-dimensional nonlinear thermal conduction equations, with the deposited energy in the target taken as source term, were derived and solved by finite differential method. As a result, the two-dimensional spatial and temporal evolution profiles of temperature were obtained for a titanium/aluminum double-layer target irradiated by a pulse of HIPIB. The effects of ion beam current density on the phase state of the target materials near the film and substrate interface were analyzed. Both titanium and aluminum were melted near the interface after a shot when the ion beam current density fell in the range of 100 A/cm2 to 200 A/cm2. 展开更多

This paper investigates the phenomenon of three-pulse photon echo in thick rare-earth ions doped crystal whose thickness is far larger than 0.002 cm which is adopted in previous works.The influence of thickness on the three-pulse photon echo's amplitude and efficiency is analyzed with the Maxwell-Bloch equations solved by finite-difference timedomain method.We demonstrate that the amplitude of three-pulse echo will increase with the increasing of thickness and the optimum thickness to generate three-pulse photon echo is 0.3 cm for Tm^(3+):YAG when the attenuation of the input pulse is taken into account.Meanwhile,we find the expression 0.09 exp(α'L),which is previously employed to describe the relationship between echo's efficiency and thickness,should be modified as 1.3 · 0.09 exp(2.4 ·α'L) with the propagation of echo considered. 展开更多

在可见光通信系统中,若脉冲信号出现问题,会导致信号失真和码间干扰,严重影响光通信系统的通信质量。传统的差分脉冲位置调制方法没有充分考虑发射时隙和信道特性对脉冲位置的影响,从而导致解调时的误差和性能下降。提出考虑发射时隙的... 在可见光通信系统中,若脉冲信号出现问题,会导致信号失真和码间干扰,严重影响光通信系统的通信质量。传统的差分脉冲位置调制方法没有充分考虑发射时隙和信道特性对脉冲位置的影响,从而导致解调时的误差和性能下降。提出考虑发射时隙的可见光通信差分脉冲位置调制方法。基于可见光通信模型,选择链路中漫反射传输类型,获取通信系统的脉冲信号响应关系。基于响应关系确定脉冲延迟影响因素,对标链路中脉冲延迟与发射时隙的频率关系,参考上下边界理论,计算差分脉冲位置调制边界范围。根据调制边界,考虑信道脉冲发射时隙,确定差分脉冲位置调制方程,实现可见光通信差分脉冲位置调制方法设计。实验结果表明:以可见光通信系统中不同传输路径为测试对象,当路径出现脉冲延迟时,所研究方法可以保证较低的带宽-功率指数,稳定地实现通信系统的脉冲调制,以此降低路径中的传输误码率。 展开更多

连续波钻井液脉冲器是随钻测量仪器(MWD)中以强脉冲形式向地面传输数据的关键部件。为满足老井开窗侧钻作业要求,必须解决小尺寸空间下钻井液脉冲器的结构设计、水力冲蚀和信号强度问题。根据实际小井眼尺寸、悬挂钻铤及匹配MWD仪器结... 连续波钻井液脉冲器是随钻测量仪器(MWD)中以强脉冲形式向地面传输数据的关键部件。为满足老井开窗侧钻作业要求,必须解决小尺寸空间下钻井液脉冲器的结构设计、水力冲蚀和信号强度问题。根据实际小井眼尺寸、悬挂钻铤及匹配MWD仪器结构尺寸,确定了小尺寸钻井液脉冲器上悬挂挂接方案及脉冲信号产生方式(连续波),完成了连续波脉冲器的结构方案及关键部件(旋转阀)的设计;以实际脉冲器设计案例(设计参数)为研究对象,并根据实际工况,采用CFD方法对脉冲器(旋转阀)的耐冲蚀性能与脉冲(钻井液压力幅值)产生能力进行了分析;通过响应曲面方法对该脉冲器案例进行了多目标参数优化。研究结果表明:设计研发的小井眼钻井液脉冲器能够满足实钻要求,且优化后脉冲器的最大冲蚀速率降低了7.41%,脉冲信号强度提高了16.24%,工作性能明显提升。设计分析及优化结果可为其在实际设计开发和应用中提供依据。 展开更多

基于超音速数值仿真下多脉冲约束弹体的修正策略研究

为研究高旋脉冲弹在超音速运动状态下的弹体修正能力,分析直接力作用的弹道控制情况及最终落点分布。建立脉冲弹仿真模型,采用流体力学软件对高马赫状态下的不同工况进行数值模拟计算;基于气动特性参数数值和全弹道动力学模型,采用单变... 为研究高旋脉冲弹在超音速运动状态下的弹体修正能力,分析直接力作用的弹道控制情况及最终落点分布。建立脉冲弹仿真模型,采用流体力学软件对高马赫状态下的不同工况进行数值模拟计算;基于气动特性参数数值和全弹道动力学模型,采用单变量约束和多变量约束的方法,分别研究不同关键参数的修正策略及扰动状态时对弹体修正能力的影响;采用蒙特卡洛打靶法计算出扰动状态下的控制误差及落点散布情况。研究结果表明:超音速状态下的脉冲弹整体气动特性与普通尾控弹大体一致;当其处于小攻角进行高旋运动时,弹道前半段的修正效果明显优于后半段;较大脉冲总量且启控时间在可控范围得越晚,则具备更好的弹道修正能力;基于最优方案下强扰动状态的落点CEP可达12 m,证明该策略具备更优良的修正效果和稳定性,具有较高的理论参考依据和工程价值。 展开更多

为了提升M142铝合金材料表面的显微硬度、耐磨性和耐腐蚀性,采用田口方法设计L_(16)正交实验来研究脉冲电化学沉积参数对Ni-Fe镀层的力学性能、耐磨性能以及耐腐蚀性能的影响。基于方差分析研究脉冲参数电流密度、占空比和脉冲频率对镀... 为了提升M142铝合金材料表面的显微硬度、耐磨性和耐腐蚀性,采用田口方法设计L_(16)正交实验来研究脉冲电化学沉积参数对Ni-Fe镀层的力学性能、耐磨性能以及耐腐蚀性能的影响。基于方差分析研究脉冲参数电流密度、占空比和脉冲频率对镀层硬度、摩擦系数、磨损率、自腐蚀电流密度和电荷转移电阻性能的影响,最终通过灰色关联分析实现脉冲工艺的多目标优化。结果表明:脉冲参数中的占空比对Ni-Fe镀层显微硬度的影响最为显著,而电流密度对镀层耐磨性能和耐腐蚀性能的影响较大。此外,使用灰色关联方法综合分析Ni-Fe镀层的显微硬度、耐磨性以及耐腐蚀性这3项性能,最终得出当脉冲参数频率为2000 Hz、占空比为50%、电流密度为2 A/dm^(2)时,Ni-Fe镀层的综合性能最佳,具有最大显微硬度301.0 HV_(0.05)和最大电荷转移电阻14148Ω·cm^(2)以及最小摩擦系数1.06、最小磨损率51.45×10^(-4)mm^(3)/(N·m)和最小自腐蚀电流密度0.57μA/cm^(2)。对比优化前后镀层的微观结构发现Ni-Fe镀层晶粒的细化是性能再次提升的主要原因。 展开更多

The acquisition of neutron time spectrum data plays a pivotal role in the precise quantification of uranium via prompt fission neutron uranium logging(PFNUL).However,the impact of the detector dead-time effect remains paramount in the accurate acquisition of the neutron time spectrum.Therefore,it is imperative for neutron logging instruments to establish a dead-time correction method that is not only uncomplicated but also practical and caters to various logging sites.This study has formulated an innovative equation for determining dead time and introduced a dead-time correction method for the neutron time spectrum,called the“dual flux method.”Using this approach,a logging instrument captures two neutron time spectra under disparate neutron fluxes.By carefully selecting specific“windows”on the neutron time spectrum,the dead time can be accurately ascertained.To substantiate its efficacy and discern the influencing factors,experiments were conducted utilizing a deuterium-tritium(D-T)neutron source,a Helium-3(3He)detector,and polyethylene shielding to collate and analyze the neutron time spectrum under varying neutron fluxes(at high voltages).The findings underscore that the“height”and“spacing”of the two windows are the most pivotal influencing factors.Notably,the“height”(fd)should surpass 2,and the“spacing”twd should exceed 200μs.The dead time of the 3 He detector determined in the experiment was 7.35μs.After the dead-time correction,the deviation of the decay coefficients from the theoretical values for the neutron time spectrum under varying neutron fluxes decreased from 12.4%to within 5%.Similarly,for the PFNUL instrument,the deviation in the decay coefficients decreased from 22.94 to 0.49%after correcting for the dead-time effect.These results demonstrate the exceptional efficacy of the proposed method in ensuring precise uranium quantification.The dual flux method was experimentally validated as a universal approach applicable to pulsed neutron logging instruments and holds immense significance for uranium exploration. 展开更多
