The radiation affecting occupationally exposed workers should be evaluated by means of the energy spectra and flux of X-rays in the treatment room. The present study aims to obtain the energy spectra of interventional procedures and study the capability of some detectors to evaluate the dose in interventional procedures. These measurements were taken by silicon-drift, CdTe, and CdZnTe detectors. The energy spectra were corrected by the energy-response curve of each detector. The energy-response curves of silicon-drift and CdTe detectors provided by the manufacturers specification were used. The energy response of the CdZnTe detector was measured by 133Ba and 152Eu γ sources. The experimental data were compared with the simulation results, and their perfect agreement provides a way to correct the energy or dose response, which can be used for the personal dosimeter developed by our group. Moreover, the measured energy spectra can be used in individual radiation protection. The present study shows that the CdZnTe detector is a good candidate detector in interventional procedures.展开更多

Methods Twenty patients were randomly assigned to two groups, 10 cases of operation on vertebral canal, 10 cases of colorectal radical operation.Venous blood was drawn at 1 day before operation, 2, 4, and 6 hours following skin incision, and 1 day after operation, in order to measure serum IL-6, CRP, and cortisol.pHi and plasma lactate were also measured at the same time points.Results Serum concentrations of IL-6 and cortisol increased gradually following operation, reaching the peak value at 6 hours from the beginning of operation.CRP was not detectable until the first day after operation.Peak concentration of IL-6 had positive relationship with CRP.These variables changed more significantly in colorectal group than that in orthopaedic group (P<0.05).pHi decreased gradually, reaching the lowest level at 4 hours from the beginning of operation, and to more extent in colorectal group than that in orthopaedic group (P<0.05).Conclusion IL-6 may reflect tissue damage more sensitively than CRP.Colorectal surgery might induce systemic disorder to more extent, in terms of immuno-endocrinal aspect as well as tissue perfusion, reflected with pHi.展开更多

This study explored the significance of the early onset of traumatic...Background Transradial coronary procedure (TRP) traumatizes the radial artery (RA), especially resulting in changes to arterial wall morphology. This study explored the significance of the early onset of traumatic effects to wall layers of the RA following the first TRP (FTRP) and repeat TRP (RTRP) using very-high-frequency ultrabiomicroscopy (VHFUBM). Methods A total of 1431 patients that re- ceived TRP were divided into the FTRP group that comprised 781 patients and the RTRP group that comprised 650 patients depending on the number of procedures. Two-dimensional RA images were acquired by 30-55 MHz ultrasound one day before and one day after the pro- cedure. Results After TRP, the incidence of intimal tears, medial dissections and external elastic lamina fracture were greater in the RTRP (P 〈 0.001). The RTRP group showed significantly thicker intimal thickness (IT), media thickness (MT), adventitia thickness and all complex layer thicknesses as compared with the FTRP group (P 〈 0.001). Conclusions Multivariate linear regression analysis discovered that repeated TRP and other observations were independent predictors of increased IT in post-operative RA. VHFUBM provides an approach to study structural and histopathological injury in the wall layers of RA which showed increased trauma to the RA following RTRP.展开更多

Calibration models should be reconstructed for different systems and application environments. This study presents an efficient procedure in the construction and selection of calibration models for LIBS analysis. The procedure concludes data preprocess, calibration model construction, and concentration calculation. These steps can be programmed without manual intervention. Results of the quantitative analysis of Ni-based alloys using the proposed procedure are presented in this study.Ten elements are calibrated, and most have an average relative standard error of less than 10%.The proposed procedure is an effective process for constructing and selecting calibration models.展开更多

To choose an appropriate reference point, an approach based on analysing the intensity distribution of fluorescence in a thin scintillator excited by traversing particles is newly developed using the CAS-LIBB single-particle microbeam, which features decisive physical signification and sufficient resolution. To ensure the security of resource and intelligence sharing in 6G,blockchain has been widely adopted in wireless communications and applications.Although blockchain can ensure the traceability and non-tamperability of...To ensure the security of resource and intelligence sharing in 6G,blockchain has been widely adopted in wireless communications and applications.Although blockchain can ensure the traceability and non-tamperability of data in the concatenated blocks,it cannot guarantee the honest behaviors of users in the application before the generation of transactions.Thus,additional technologies are required to ensure that the source of blockchain data is reliable.In this paper,the detailed procedure is designed for the application-oriented task validation in the blockchainenhanced computing resource sharing and transactions in ultra dense networks(UDN).The corresponding queuing model is built and analyzed with the consideration of the wireless re-transmission and the probability of malicious deception by users.Based on the analysis results,the UDN deployment is optimized to save network cost while ensuring latency performance.Numerical results verify our analysis,and the optimized system deployment including the number and service capacities of both base stations and mobile edge computing(MEC)servers are also given with various system settings.展开更多
Objective:To evaluate the effect of modified surgical techniques on hemostasis used in aortic root replacement with a composite graft(Bentall procedure).Methods:Data on 15 patients who underwent Bentall procedure duri...Objective:To evaluate the effect of modified surgical techniques on hemostasis used in aortic root replacement with a composite graft(Bentall procedure).Methods:Data on 15 patients who underwent Bentall procedure during 2005 to 2007 were analyzed.The first 5 patients(Group 1) received the standard procedure.Then next 10 patients(Group 2) received the modified procedure.Techniques including "tandem suture line","endo-button buttress","sandwich anastomosis" and "left ventricle filling" were added to the standard procedure.Perioperative bleeding and the volume of blood transfusion required were compared to estimate hemostasis in different groups.Results:Between groups 1 and 2,a significant difference was found in postoperative bleeding [(2193±383) ml vs(1012±258) ml,respectively;P<0.05] and in volume of blood transfusion required [(7242±1416) ml vs(2520±708) ml,respectively;P<0.05].Conclusion:The modified surgical techniques used in our study are effective in the improvement of the hemostasis in Bentall procedure.展开更多
