The effects of MgO on densification and consolidation of pellets were investigated. The experimental results show that, at the same process parameters, the porosity and pore size distribution of green pellets have no evident relation with the MgO bearing additive, pore size of green pellets is between 15 μm and 35 μm and the porosity of green pellets is about 34%. There is a densification and consolidation phenomenon during the induration process; the pore size and porosity of product pellets decrease gradually; and the structure of product pellets becomes dense. MgO makes a negative effect on the densification and consolidation of product pellets, the densification ratio of pellets decreases from 46.3% to 28.6% with the addition of MgO bearing additive from 0 to 2.0 %. The porosity and the pore size of product pellets increase gradually with the increase of MgO content; When the mass fraction of MgO bearing additive increases from 0 to 2.0%, the pore size of product pellet increases and the pore size distributes in a large range. Also, the porosity increases from 18.61% to 24.06%.展开更多

And the artificial magnetite pellet at the temperature of 400℃ has the oxidation degree approaching to natural magnetite concentrate pellet fired at 1000℃. Besides, two kinds of pellets displayed quite different roasting characteristics. When preheated at the same temperature for the same period of time, natural magnetite concentrate pellet and artificial magnetite concentrate pellet need to be roasted at the temperature of 1100℃ and 1250℃, respectively, for 25 min to reach the compressive strength of 3000 N per pellet. When roasted at the same temperature of 1200℃, natural magnetite pellet and artificial magnetite pellet need to be roasted for 15 min and 30 min, respectively, to reach the compressive strength over 3000 N per pellet. It can be seen from the test that artificial magnetite pellet has a faster oxidation, resulting in the high porosity in the produced pellet, and it requires a roasting process at higher temperature for a longer time to reach the desired compressive strength for industrial production.展开更多

The influences of gas composition and temperature on reduction were studied. Results show that the increasing of HE proportion is helpful to improve the reduction rate. However, when ~o(H2):~o(CO)〉1.6:1, changes of HE content have little influence on it. Appropriate reduction temperature is about 950 ℃, and higher temperature (1 000 ℃) may unfavorably slow the reduction rate. From the kinetics analysis at 950 ℃, the most part of reduction course is likely controlled by interfacial chemical reaction mechanism and in the final stage controlled by a combined effect of gaseous diffusion and interfacial chemical reaction mechanisms. From the utilizations study of different reducing gases at 950 ℃, the key step in reduction course is the 3rd stage (FeO→Fe), and the utilization of reducing gas increases with the rise of HE proportion.展开更多

The results indicate that oxidized hematite pellets require higher preheating temperature and longer preheating time to attain required compression strength of pellets compared with the common magnetite oxidized pellets. It is found that when the hematite concentrates are pretreated by high pressure roll grinding (HPRG), the compression strengths of preheated and roasted oxidized hematite pellets get improved even with lower preheating and roasting temperatures and shorter preheating and roasting time. The mechanism for HPRG to improve roasting properties of oxidized pellets were investigated and the cause mainly lies in the increase of micro-sized particles and the decrease of dispersion degree for hematite concentrates, which promotes the hematite concentrate particles to be compacted, the solid-phase crystallization, and finally the formation of Fe203 bonding bridges during subsequent high temperature roasting process.展开更多

In this process, preparation of DLPs is a fundamental step which is required to produce DLPs with favorable mechanical strength and thermal stability. Studies were carried out to investigate the affecting factors and conditions on the preparation and properties of DLPs. The results show that moisture content has significant influence on DLPs preparation. With the increase of moisture content in the range of no more than 9.8%, drop resistance and compressive strength of green DLPs are raised and the pelletizing dynamics is improved accordingly. The optimum conditions are determined as moisture content of 9.8%, coating time of 14-16 min, drying temperature 〈80 ℃and drying gas velocity 〈1.2 m/s. When DLPs prepared under these conditions are roasted at 600 ℃ for 1 h, favorable removal and solidifying rates can be obtained, in which the removal rates of arsenic and sulfur are 94.38% and 82.55%, and the solidifying rates of arsenic and sulfur reach 99.62% and 99.79%, respectively. The pre-reduced pellets, with a porous structure, and fine particles are carburized homogeneously at 400-650 ℃ in a CO atmosphere. The carburized carbon not only acts reaction as a reduction agent, but also absorbs microwave in the reduction process. Hence, the carburized pre-reduced pellets can be rapidly reduced by microwave heating. There are three procedures involved in the process, namely, gas-based pre-reduction, low-temperatttre carburization and deep reduction by microwave heating. Carburized pre-reduced iron ore pellets show a rapid temperature rise that is twice as fast as the results for pre-reduced pellets in the laboratory. This not only improves the efficiency of the microwave heating, but also accelerates the reduction of iron oxides. The temperature of the pre-reduced pellets rises to 1050 ℃ in 45 min when the carburization rate is 2.02%, and the metallization rate and compressive strength reach 94.24% and 1725 N/pellet, respectively.展开更多

In this work, effects of reduction parameters on swelling index of hot preheated pellets were investigated by photographic technique under isothermal conditions. Experimental results show that swelling index of pellets is firstly increased then gradually decreased with increasing reduction time, while that is found to be an obvious decrease from 175 % to 30% with the variation of temperature from 900℃ to 1100℃. Results of XRD combined with SEM reveal that swelling behavior of pellets is decided by structure of newly formed metal iron grains. The formation and growth of fibers iron grains promote the increase in volume. Low temperature and low CO content are favored to the formation and orientated growth of metal iron grains in the one step process.展开更多

文摘The effect of H_2 gas content on the reduction of Panzhihua titanomagnetite concentrate pellets by carbon monoxide was investigated by isothermal reduction experiment using CO-N_2-H_2 gas mixtures in a vertical electric resistance furnace. The morphology and phase transformation of reduced samples obtained were detected by scanning electron microscopy, energy disperse spectroscopy analysis and X-ray diffractometry respectively. The results show that increasing H_2 content will enhance the initial stage of reduction rate apparently. There are two reasons responsible for this effect, one is that H_2 accelerates the chemical reaction, and the other is that the addition of H_2 gas can improve the porosity of pellet intensively. It is noteworthy that this effect is more obvious when the reduction temperature reaches 1473 K with sticking phenomenon happening. There are no crystalline phases which can be found such as ulvospinle,ilmenite,ferrous-pseudobrookite and any titanium oxide except titanomagnetite(TTM).The reduction progress is suggested as follows:1) Fe_2O_3→Fe_3O_4→FeO→Fe;2) Fe_2TiO_5→Fe_2TiO_4+Fe_3O_4→TTM.Element Al migrates and gets enriched in high titanium content iron ores, and eventually Al to Ti molar ratio is 1:3.Al is likely to dissolve in titanium iron oxides to form a kind of composite iron compound, which results in the restrain of reduction.
文摘In recent years, composite pellet production with added reductant has been developed instead of traditional iron production.Composite pellets produced by the addition of appropriate proportions of reductant produce sponge iron in the reductant melting process at high temperatures. The elements created in the structure by pellet production directly affect the quality of the product obtained by determining the chemical composition and the appropriate reaction temperature. In this study, sponge iron ore concentrate(scale)and reductant(coke coal dust and sodium bentonite)were mixed at certain proportions to produce composite pellet samples;the effects of addition rate of the reductant material of sodium bentonite(1 wt%−4 wt%)and variation in reaction temperature(900−1200℃)on the metallization and compressive strength properties of the produced composite pellet samples were investigated. The analysis results show that the highest compressive strength is obtained from pellet samples produced with 3%sodium bentonite at 1100℃.Additionally,SEM-EDS analysis results of the samples show that the morphologic structure has much lower porosity rates compared to samples produced under the other conditions which makes the samples denser and increases the metallization properties.

文摘One kind of facile coal-based direct reduction process is using hot preheated pellets for reduction in grate kiln. Low temperature and low CO content are favored to the formation and orientated growth of metal iron grains in the one step process.

文摘The utilization of arsenic-containing gold dressing tailings is an urgent issue faced by gold production companies worldwide. The thermodynamic analysis results indicate that ferrous arsenate(FeAsO_(4)),pyrite(FeS_(2))and sodium cyanide(NaCN)in the arsenic-containing gold metallurgical tailings can be effectively removed using straight grate process, and the removal of pyrite and sodium cyanide is basically completed during the preheating stage, while the removal of ferrous arsenate requires the roasting stage. The pellets undergo a transformation from magnetite to hematite during the preheating process, and are solidified through micro-crystalline bonding and high-temperature recrystallization of hematite(Fe_(2)O_(3))during the roasting process.Ultimately, pellets with removal rates of 80.77% for arsenic,88.78% for sulfur, and 99.88% for cyanide are obtained,as well as the iron content is 61.1% and the compressive strength is 3071 N,meeting the requirements for blast furnace burden. This study provides an industrially feasible method for treating arsenic-containing gold smelting tailings, benefiting gold production enterprises.
