Oxidative leaching mechanism and kinetics of Se, Te and Cu for selenium distillation slag by H_(2)SO_(4) and H_(2)O_(2)

Selenium distillation slag(SDS)is a high-value-added secondary resource with a high recovery value.This paper aims to investigate the leaching behavior and kinetics of selenium,tellurium,and copper in the SDS acid oxidation leaching process with H_(2)SO_(4) and H_(2)O_(2).The experimental results showed that under the optimum conditions,the contents of selenium,tellurium,and copper in the SDS were reduced from 22.13 wt%,3.58 wt%,and 6.42 wt%to 3.06 wt%,0.27 wt%,and 0.33 wt%,respectively.Correspondingly,the recovery rates are 87.08%,97.15%and 99.7%.The leaching processes of selenium and tellurium were controlled by diffusion and chemical reactions,and the leaching behavior of copper was controlled by chemical reactions.Below 45℃,the activation energies for selenium,tellurium,and copper were found to be 26.47,62.18 and 19.67 kJ/mol,respectively.In addition,the contents of lead,silver and gold in the leaching residue are increased to 46.8 wt%,8.35 wt%and 0.27 wt%,respectively.These substances can be utilized as raw materials for the recovery of these valuable metals.Importantly,the entire process does not generate toxic or harmful waste,making it a green and environmentally friendly method for resource recovery. 展开更多

Catalytic oxidation desulfurization(CODS)technology has shown great promise for diesel desulfurization by virtue of its low cost,mild reaction conditions,and superior desulfurization performance.Herein,a series of FeMoO_(x)/LaTiO_(y)-z samples with diverse Fe/Mo ratios were prepared via a facile citric acid-assisted method.The impact of Fe incorporation on the dispersion and surface elemental states of Mo species,as well as oxygen species content of the synthesized FeMoO_(x)/LaTiO_(y)-z catalysts were systematically characterized using TEM,BET,UV-vis DRS,XPS,XANES,and reaction kinetics,and their CODS performances were examined for 4,6-DMDBT removal.Experimental results demonstrated that Fe/Mo ratio significantly affected the Ti−O bond strength,surface dispersion and electronic structure of Mo O_(2)species on FeMoO_(x)/LaTiO_(y)-z catalysts.FeMoO_(x)/LaTiO_(y)-2 catalyst showed outstanding cycling durability and the best CODS performance with almost 100%removal of 4,6-DMDBT from model oil within 75 min due to its proper MoO3 dispersion,optimal redox property,and the most oxygen vacancy concentration.Nevertheless,further enhancing Fe content led to the increased dispersion of Mo species,while the decrease active Mo species as well as the increase of steric effect for 4,6-DMDBT accessing to the catalytic reactive sites considerably increase the apparent activation energy of FeMoO_(x)/LaTiO_(y)-z(z>2)catalysts during the CODS process,thereby seriously suppressing their CODS performances.Moreover,Radical trapping experiments reveal that the·,generated by the activation of O_(2)at the active sites,catalytic oxidized 4,6-DMDBT to the product of 4,6-DMDBTO_(2),thereby enabling both deep desulfurization and recovery of high-value 4,6-DMDBTO_(2).These findings offer an alternative strategy to achieve ultra deep desulfurization as well as separate and recover high economic value sulfone substances from diesel. 展开更多

Pitch produced by the lique-faction of coal was divided into two frac-tions:soluble in toluene(TS)and insol-uble in toluene but soluble in pyridine(TI-PS),and their differences in molecu-lar structure and oxidation activity were studied.Several different carbon materi-als were produced from them by oxida-tion in air(350℃,300 mL/min)fol-lowed by carbonization(1000℃ in Ar),and the effect of the cross-linked structure on their structure and sodium storage properties was investigated.The results showed that the two pitch fractions were obviously different after the air oxidation.The TS fraction with a low degree of condensation and abundant side chains had a stronger oxidation activity and thus introduced more cross-linked oxygen-containing functional groups C(O)―O which prevented carbon layer rearrangement during the carbonization.As a result,a disordered hard carbon with more defects was formed,which improved the electrochemical performance.Therefore,the carbon materials derived from TS(O-TS-1000)had an obvious disordered structure and a larger layer spacing,giving them better sodium storage perform-ance than those derived from the TI-PS fraction(O-TI-PS-1000).The specific capacity of O-TS-1000 was about 250 mAh/g at 20 mA/g,which was 1.67 times higher than that of O-TI-PS-1000(150 mAh/g). 展开更多

Reversible solid oxide cell(RSOC)is a new energy conversion device with significant applications,especially for power grid peaking shaving.However,the reversible conversion process of power generation/energy storage poses challenges for the performance and stability of air electrodes.In this work,a novel high-entropy perovskite oxide La_(0.2)Pr_(0.2)Gd_(0.2)Sm_(0.2)Sr_(0.2)Co_(0.8)Fe_(0.2)O_(3−δ)(HE-LSCF)is proposed and investigated as an air electrode in RSOC.The electrochemical behavior of HE-LSCF was studied as an air electrode in both fuel cell and electrolysis modes.The polarization impedance(Rp)of the HE-LSCF electrode is only 0.25Ω·cm^(2) at 800℃ in an air atmosphere.Notably,at an electrolytic voltage of 2 V and a temperature of 800℃,the current density reaches up to 1.68 A/cm^(2).The HE-LSCF air electrode exhibited excellent reversibility and stability,and its electrochemical performance remains stable after 100 h of reversible operation.With these advantages,HE-LSCF is shown to be an excellent air electrode for RSOC. 展开更多

In pursuit of more efficient and stable electrochemical energy storage materials,composite materials consisting of metal oxides and graphene oxide have garnered significant attention due to their unique structures and exceptional properties.Graphene oxide(GO),a two-dimensional material with an extremely high specific surface area and excellent conductivity,offers new possibilities for enhancing the electrochemical performance of metal oxides.In this work,we synthesized met-al-organic framework(MOF)and GO composites by regulating the amount of GO,and successfully prepared composites of metal oxides supported by nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks and GO through a simple one-step calcination process.Based on the electrochemical tests,the optimal amount of GO was determined.This research will provide new insights into and directions for designing and synthesizing metal oxide and graphene oxide composite materials with an ideal electro-chemical performance. 展开更多

Graphene oxide nanomaterials are increasingly used in various fields due to their superior properties.In order to study the influence of graphene oxide additives on the performance of modified asphalt,in this study,graphene oxide modified asphalt was prepared and characteristics was studied including the high deformation resistance performance and the self-healing property of modified asphalt.Functional groups and morphology of graphene oxide modified asphalt were described by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.The high deformation resistance performance and self-healing effect of asphalt samples were obtained through dynamic slear rheometer(DSR)test.Results shows that graphene oxide dispersions improve the performance of asphalt relatively well compared to graphene oxide powder.There is no chemical reaction between graphene oxide and asphalt,but physical connection.The addition of graphene oxide improved the high deformation resistance of modified asphalt and expedited the self-healing ability of asphalt under fatigue load. 展开更多

With the aim to effectively depolymerize polyethylene terephthalate(PET)under mild reaction conditions,PET methanolysis and dimethyl terephthalate(DMT)hydrolysis are integrated in a catalyst system.Firstly,methanolysis of PET to DMT is achieved over Cu-Mg-Al oxide catalyst.Next,terephthalic acid(TPA)is prepared by DMT hydrolysis.It is found that hydrolysis of DMT to TPA can be promoted by introducing trace amount of water in this catalyst system.CuO-MgO-4.5Al_2O_(3)catalyst demonstrates the excellent catalytic performance for the depolymerization of PET with high conversion rate and TPA yield(100%and 99.5%,respectively)after reaction at 160℃for 6 h,which provides a new idea for the depolymerization of PET. 展开更多

The electrocatalytic nitrogen oxidation reaction(NOR)is a sustainable approach for converting N_(2)to NO_(3)^(-)under mild conditions.However,it still faces challenges including inefficient N_(2)absorption/activation and oxygen evolution competition,sluggish kinetics,low Faradaic efficiency,and limited nitrate yields.In this work,a novel two-dimensional(2D)layered MOF Mn-BCPPy(H_(2)BCPPy=3,5-di(4'-carboxyphenyl)pyridine)has been successfully synthesized.The framework is composed of a rod-manganese motifs and possesses abundant active sites including open metal sites(OMSs)and Lewis base sites(LBSs).The Mn-BCPPy is the first MOF catalyst applied in electrocatalytic NOR which NO_(3)^(-)exhibited relatively high activity with a yield of 99.75μg/(h·mg)and a Faraday efficiency(FE)of 32.09%.Furthermore,it can be used as fluorescent sensor for selectively and sensitively detect nitrofuran antibiotics(NFs).Therefore,this work explores the application of MOF materials in the field of electrocatalytic NOR,which reveals that manganese-based MOFs have great potential prospects. 展开更多

ZnO thin films with varying Ta concentrations were fabricated through magnetron sputtering.The crystallinity and surface morphology of the ZnO films are significantly influenced by the incorporation of Ta,as evidenced by the X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy results.The lattice constants,as determined by X-ray diffraction,contradict the disparity in Ta and Zn ion radii,which is attributed to the impact of interstitial defects.This inconsistency introduces variations in carrier concentration in this experiment compared with prior studies.Subsequent exploration of the luminescent characteristics and emission mechanism of defect levels in Ta-doped ZnO films was conducted through photoluminescence.Furthermore,the factors influencing the bandgap are discussed. 展开更多

Development of methodologies for fabrications of nanostructured materials that provide control over their microstructural features and compositions represents a fundamental step in the advancement of technologies for productions of materials with well-defined functional properties.Pulse electrolysis,a top-down electrochemical approach,has been demonstrated to be a viable method for producing nanostructured materials with a particular efficacy in the synthesis of tin oxides.This method allows for significant control over the composition and shape of the resulting tin oxides particles by modifying the anionic composition of the aqueous electrolyte,obviating the need for additional capping agents in the synthesis process and eliminating the requirement for high-temperature post-treatments.The composition and microstructural characteristics of these oxides are found to be contingent upon the differing stabilities of tin fluoride and chloride complexes,as well as the distinct mechanisms of interaction between chloride and fluoride anions with an oxidized tin surface,which is influenced by the varying kosmotropic/chaotropic nature of these anions.The composition and microstructural characteristics of the obtained dispersed tin oxides would thus determine their potential applications as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries,as a photocatalyst,or as an oxyphilic component of a hybrid support for a platinum-containing electrocatalyst. 展开更多

Solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs)can effectively convert CO_(2)into high value-added CO fuel.In this paper,Sc-doped Sr_(2)Fe_(1.5)Mo_(0.3)Sc_(0.2)O_(6−δ)(SFMSc)perovskite oxide material is synthesized via solid-phase method as the cathode for CO_(2)electrolysis by SOECs.XRD confirms that SFMSc exhibits a stable cubic phase crystal structure.The experimental results of TPD,TG,EPR,CO_(2)-TPD further demonstrate that Sc-doping increases the concentration of oxygen vacancy in the material and the chemical adsorption capacity of CO_(2)molecules.Electrochemical tests reveal that SFMSc single cell achieves a current density of 2.26 A/cm^(2) and a lower polarization impedance of 0.32Ω·cm^(2) at 800°C under the applied voltage of 1.8 V.And no significant performance attenuation or carbon deposition is observed after 80 h continuous long-term stability test.This study provides a favorable support for the development of SOEC cathode materials with good electro-catalytic performance and stability. 展开更多

This work investigates the transient performance and stability of CO_(2)/H_(2)O co-electrolysis in an air-free environment using a flat-tube solid oxide electrolysis cell(SOEC)stack.The results showed that the transient behavior of the stack with and without blowing gas into the air electrode is almost the same.With a current density of 0.67 A·cm^(-2)@750℃,the stack operated for over 200 h under co-electrolysis conditions without air blowing,and the voltage drop rate of the stack was approximately 0.203%/100 hours.Microstructure analysis revealed a significant loss of nickel particles and an apparent for-mation of an insulating phase strontium chromate(SrCrO4)on the surface of the current collection layer of the air electrode,which are identified as key factors contributing to the performance degradation of the stack.This study provides a reference for development of efficient fuel preparation technology based on SOEC stack in airless environments. 展开更多

Broadband transparent films play a pivotal role in various applications such as lenses and solar cells,particularly porous structured transparent films exhibit significant potential.This study investigates a porous SiO_(2) refractive index gradient anti-reflective film prepared by atomic layer deposition(ALD).A porous SiO_(2) film with gradual porosity was obtained by phosphoric acid etching of Al_(2)O_(3)/SiO_(2) multilayers with gradient Al2O3 ratios,achieving a gradual decrease in refractive index from the substrate to the surface.The film exhibited an average transmittance as high as 97.8%within the wavelength range from 320 nm to 1200 nm.The environmental adaptability was further enhanced by surface modification using rare earth oxide(REO)La_(2)O_(3),resulting in formation of a lotus leaf-like structure and achieving a water contact angle of 100.0°.These data proved that the modification significantly improved hydrophobic self-cleaning capability while maintaining exceptional transparency of the film.The surface structure of the modified film remained undamaged even after undergoing wipe testing,demonstrating its excellent surface durability. 展开更多

We introduce our state-of-the art of“vacuum consistent electrochemistry”to an investigation of the interfaces between oxides and ionic liquid(IL).Pulsed laser deposition(PLD)has been one of the powerful and sophisticated techniques to realize nanoscale preparation of high-quality epitaxial oxide thin films.On the other hand,electrochemistry is a simple,very sensitive,and non-destructive analysis technique for solid-liquid interfaces.To ensure the reproducibility in experiment of the interfaces of such epitaxial oxide films,as well as bulk oxide single-crystals,with IL,we employ a home-built PLD-electrochemical(EC)system with IL as an electrolyte.The system allows one to perform all-in-vacuum experiments during the preparation of well-defined oxide electrode surfaces to their electrochemical analyses.The topics include electrochemical evaluations of the oxide’s own properties,such as carrier density and relative permittivity,and the interfacial properties of oxides in contact with IL,such as flat band potential and electric double layer(EDL)capacitance,ending with future perspectives in all-solid-state electrochemistry. 展开更多

On the surfaces of celestial bodies with no or thin atmospheres,such as the Moon and Mars,the solar wind irradiation process leads to the formation of hydrogen and helium enriched regions in the extraterrestrial soil particles.However,soil particles on the Earth with the similar composition lack such structures and properties.This discrepancy raises a key question whether there is a direct relationship between solar wind irradiation and the alterations in the structure and chemical performance of extraterrestrial materials.To address this question,this work investigates the effects of proton irradiation,simulating solar wind radiation,on the structure and photothermal catalytic properties of the classic catalyst In_(2)O_(3).It reveals that proton irradiation induces structural features in In_(2)O_(3) analogous to those characteristics of solar wind weathering observed in extraterrestrial materials.Furthermore,after proton beam irradiation with an energy of 30 keV and a dose of 3×10^(17) protons·cm^(-2),the methanol production yield of the In_(2)O_(3) catalyst increased to 2.6 times of its preirradiation level,and the methanol selectivity improved to 2.1 times of the original value.This work provides both theoretical and experimental support for the development of high-efficiency,radiation-resistant photothermal catalysts. 展开更多

To improve the oxidation resistance of HfB_(2)-SiC coatings on carbon/carbon composites at 1700°C in air,CeO_(2) was introduced to improve oxygen blocking and its mechanism was investigated.During the rapid oxidation stage,CeO_(2) accelerated the formation of a multiphase glass layer on the coating surface.The maximum oxidation rates of CeO_(2)-HfB2-SiC coatings with 1%,3%,and 5%CeO_(2) were 24.1%,20.3%,and 53.2%higher than that of the unmodified HfB2-SiC coating,respectively.In the stable oxidation stage,the maximum oxidation rates of coatings with 1%and 3%CeO_(2) decreased by 31.4%and 21.9%,respectively,demonstrating adequate inert protection.CeO_(2) is a“coagulant”and“stabilizer”in the composite glass layer.However,increasing the CeO_(2) content accelerates the reaction between the SiO_(2) glass phase and SiC,leading to a higher SiO_(2) consumption and reduced self-healing ability of the glass layer.The 1%CeO_(2)-60%HfB2-39%SiC coating showed improved glass layer viscosity and stability,moderate SiO_(2) consumption,and better self-healing ability,significantly boosting the oxidation protection of the coating. 展开更多

Nitric oxide(NO),which generally originates from vehicle exhaust and industrial flue gases,is one of the most serious air pollutants.In this case,the electrochemical NO reduction reaction(NORR)not only removes the atmospheric pollutant NO but also produces valuable ammonia(NH_(3)).Hence,through the synthesis and modification of Fe_(3)C nanocrystal cata-lysts,the as-obtained optimal sample of Fe_(3)C/C-900 was adopted as the NORR catalyst at ambient conditions.As a result,the Fe_(3)C/C-900 catalyst showed an NH_(3)Faraday efficiency of 76.5%and an NH_(3)yield rate of 177.5μmol·h^(-1)·cm^(-2)at the working potentials of-0.8 and-1.2 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(vs.RHE),respectively.And it delivered a stable NORR activity during the electrolysis.Moreover,we attribute the high NORR properties of Fe_(3)C/C-900 to two aspects:one is the enhanced intrinsic activity of Fe_(3)C nanocrystals,including the lowering of the energy barrier of rate-limiting step(*NOH→*N)and the inhibition of hydrogen evolution;on the other hand,the favorable dispersion of active components,the effective adsorption of gaseous NO,and the release of liquid NH_(3)products facilitated by the porous carbon substrate. 展开更多
