To lower the adverse impact on the dual-spin projectile with fixed canards under the premise of meeting guidance system requirements, the influence of control moment provided by a motor on the flight stability is analyzed in this paper. Firstly, the effect of the rolling movement on stability is analyzed based on the stability criterion derived using the Hurwitz stability theory. Secondly, the evaluation parameters combining the features of different control periods that could assess the variation of stability features after the motor torque are obtained. These effective formulas are used to indicate that, to reduce the flight instability risks, the stabilized rolling speed of roll speed keeping period should be as small as possible; the variation trend of motor torque during the rolling speed controlling period and the roll angle of the forward body during roll angle switching period are recommended corresponding to the projectile and trajectory characteristics. Moreover, detailed numerical simulations of 155 mm dual-spin projectile are satisfactory agreement with the theoretical results.展开更多

Model-r...This work proposes a map-based control method to improve a vehicle's lateral stability, and the performance of the proposed method is compared with that of the conventional model-referenced control method. Model-referenced control uses the sliding mode method to determine the compensated yaw moment; in contrast, the proposed map-based control uses the compensated yaw moment map acquired by vehicle stability analysis. The vehicle stability region is calculated by a topological method based on the trajectory reversal method. A 2-DOF vehicle model and Pacejka's tire model are used to evaluate the proposed map-based control method. The properties of model-referenced control and map-based control are compared under various road conditions and driving inputs. Model-referenced control uses a control input to satisfy the linear reference model, and it generates unnecessary tire lateral forces that may lead to worse performance than an uncontrolled vehicle with step steering input on a road with a low friction coefficient. However, map-based control determines a compensated yaw moment to maintain the vehicle within the stability region,so the typical responses of vehicle enable to converge rapidly. The simulation results with sine and step steering show that map-based control provides better the tracking responsibility and control performance than model-referenced control.展开更多

By using an improved integral inequality,a less conservative delay-dependent stability criterion is formulated as the feasibility problem of the linear matrix inequality (LMI). The criterion is proved theoretically to be less conservative than some existing results for linear time-delay systems. Because of the fact that the matrices in the LMI-based stability criteria usually have different dimensions, different structures, and different variables, the conservatism analysis of the criteria is difficult. This study brings about a new insight into the comparison of conservatism among different stability criteria, which are expressed in certain LMI forms. The existence of the guaranteed cost controller is given in terms of matrix inequalities. The condition can be solved by using an iterative procedure and does not need any parameter tuning. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多
