This paper developed a statistical damage constitutive model for deep rock by considering the effects of external load and thermal treatment temperature based on the distortion energy.The model parameters were determi...This paper developed a statistical damage constitutive model for deep rock by considering the effects of external load and thermal treatment temperature based on the distortion energy.The model parameters were determined through the extremum features of stress−strain curve.Subsequently,the model predictions were compared with experimental results of marble samples.It is found that when the treatment temperature rises,the coupling damage evolution curve shows an S-shape and the slope of ascending branch gradually decreases during the coupling damage evolution process.At a constant temperature,confining pressure can suppress the expansion of micro-fractures.As the confining pressure increases the rock exhibits ductility characteristics,and the shape of coupling damage curve changes from an S-shape into a quasi-parabolic shape.This model can well characterize the influence of high temperature on the mechanical properties of deep rock and its brittleness-ductility transition characteristics under confining pressure.Also,it is suitable for sandstone and granite,especially in predicting the pre-peak stage and peak stress of stress−strain curve under the coupling action of confining pressure and high temperature.The relevant results can provide a reference for further research on the constitutive relationship of rock-like materials and their engineering applications.展开更多
To investigate the explosion load characteristics and structural response law in a water mist environment in a cabin,explosion experiments are carried out.The weakening rates of the initial peak overpressure,quasistat...To investigate the explosion load characteristics and structural response law in a water mist environment in a cabin,explosion experiments are carried out.The weakening rates of the initial peak overpressure,quasistatic pressure and structural residual deflection increase with increasing working pressure of the water mist nozzle.Specifically,the weakening rate of the initial peak overpressure ranges from 7.8%to 31.0%,the quasistatic pressure weakening rate ranges from 29.2%to 41.0%,and the weakening rate of the center of the plate residual deflection ranges from 10.8%to 34.4%under the various working pressures of the nozzles.To further explore the effect of water mist explosion suppression,a method for three-dimensional numerical simulations of water mist weakening the explosion shock wave is established to explore the explosion load characteristics of the compartment and the bulkhead response law.On the basis of the dimension analysis method,empirical formulas are derived to predict the residual deflection thickness in the center of the bulkheads.These findings provide the fundamental basis for the appli-cation of water mist in anti-explosive protection.展开更多
The deep fissured rock mass is affected by coupled effects of initial ground stress and external dynamic disturbance.In order to study the effect of internal flaw on pre-stressed rock mechanical responses and failure ...The deep fissured rock mass is affected by coupled effects of initial ground stress and external dynamic disturbance.In order to study the effect of internal flaw on pre-stressed rock mechanical responses and failure behavior under impact loading,intact granite specimens and specimens with different flaw inclinations are tested by a modified split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)and digital image correlation(DIC)method.The results show that peak strain and dynamic strength of intact specimens and specimens with different flaw angles(α)decrease with the increase of axial static pressure.The 90°flaw has weak reduction effect on peak strain,dynamic strength and combined strength,while 45°and 0°flaws have remarkable reduction effect.Specimens with 90°flaw are suffered combined shear and tensile failure under middle and low axial static pre-stresses,and suffered shear failure under high axial static pre-stresses.Specimens with 45°and 0°flaws are suffered oblique shear failure caused by pre-existing flaw under different axial static pre-stresses.Besides,based on digital image correlation method,it is found that micro-cracks before formation of macro fractures(include shear and tensile fractures)belong to tensile cracks.Tensile and shear strain localizations at pre-existing flaw tip for specimen with 45°and 0°flaws are produced much earlier than that at other positions.展开更多
Taking the Kunlunshan Tunnel on Qinghai Tibet Railway as an engineering background, the curved wall-inverted arch lining of the tunnel was simplified into the straight wall-umbrella arch one, and the fractured rock ma...Taking the Kunlunshan Tunnel on Qinghai Tibet Railway as an engineering background, the curved wall-inverted arch lining of the tunnel was simplified into the straight wall-umbrella arch one, and the fractured rock mass with developed joints was treated as a discrete medium in the calculation. Using the UDEC code, the numerical simulations for thermo-mechanical coupling processes in the surrounding rock mass-supporting system were carried out aiming at the conditions of mean temperature, extreme highest temperature and extreme lowest temperature in one year. The distributions and changes of stresses, displacements, plastic zones, temperatures in the rock mass of near field, as well as the loading states in the model-building concrete and bolting were investigated and compared for these three computation cases. The results show that compared with the case of mean temperature, the ranges, where the temperatures of surrounding rock mass change obviously, are 6.0 m and 6.5 m, respectively, for the cases of extreme highest temperature and extreme lowest temperature; the displacements of tunnel are raised by 3.2 9.3 and 5.7 12.7 times, and the thicknesses of plastic zones reach 1.5 2.5 m and 2.0 4.5 m for case 2 and 3, respectively; the extreme temperatures of air have strong effects on the stress, deformation and failure states of supporting structure of tunnel in cold region, and the influence degree of extreme lowest temperature is the highest.展开更多

Parametric analyses including the degree of inclination and the distance between soil and pile are carried out herein. When the displacement of soil on the left side and right side of a pile is identical, deformation of a vertical pile and an inclined pile is highly close in both cases of surcharge load and uniform soil movement. When the couple effect of soil displacement and axial load occurs, settlement of an inclined pile is greater than that of a vertical pile under the same axial load, and bearing capacity of an inclined pile is smaller than that of a vertical pile. This is quite different from the case when the inclined pile is not affected by soil displacement. For inclined piles, P-Δ effect of axial load would lead to a large increase in bending moment, however, for the vertical pile, P-Δ effect of axial load can be neglected. Although the direction of inclination of piles is reverse, deformation of piles caused by uniform soil movement is totally the same. For the inclined piles discussed herein, bending moment(-8 m to-17 m under the ground) relies heavily on uniform soil movement and does not change during the process of applying axial load. When the thickness of soil is less than the pile length, the greater the thickness of soil, the larger the bending moment at lower part of the inclined pile. When the thickness of soil is larger than the pile length, bending moment at lower part of the inclined pile is zero.展开更多
