It was found that concentration of tea extract or heating tea extract or treating with activated carbon and diatomite all had obvious effect on the scavenging activety of green tea extract ,but heating or treating with diaomite had less effect on the scavenging activity of black tea extract. Ascorbic acid, for having synergic effect with tea extracts, could enhance the scavenging activity of tea extracts markedly, and the contrary was cupric ion. Reducing sugars such as fructose and glucose also had some syncrgic effect to tea extracts.展开更多

Cyclic voltammograms ofthe PTMA polyradical electrodes were obtained by using a three-electrode cell at a scan rate of 5 mV/s within a po-tential range of 3.2-4. 0 V. The results show that the shape of oxidation peak is very similar to that of reductionpeak, and oxidation peak current is equal to the corresponding reduction peak current, which suggest that PTMApossesses an excellent reversibility. The difference of the anodic peak potential (Ea,p =3.66 V, vs Li/Li+ ) and ca-thodic peak potential(Ec,p =3.58 V, vs Li/Li+ ) is estimated at 80 mV, which is extremely less than that of the oth-er organic positive materials in lithium second batteries such as organosulfide compounds, leading to a capability forhigh current capability in the charging and discharging process of the battery. The maximum discharge specific ca-pacity of PTMA is 78.4 mA @ h/g at the constant discharge current of 0.3 mA (0.2 C rate), the coulombic efficien-cy is about 95%, and the charging and discharging curves of the batteries have an obvious plateau at 3.65 V and3.56 V, respectively. The discharging specific capacity of the battery decreased is about 2% after 100 cycles. ThePTMA/Li button batteries exhibite an excellent stability.展开更多

Energy disperse spectroscopy (EDS) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) confirmed that PMMA brushes were successfully prepared on the silicon wafers, and the surface became more hydrophobic according to the contact angle of 69~. It is found that CuCI/1, 1, 4, 7, 10, 10-hexamethyl triethylenetetramine (HMTETA) system is more suitable than CuBr/N, N, N′, N″, N′″-pentamethyl diethylenetriamine (PMDETA) system to control the free radical polymerization of MMA in solution. Nevertheless, better control on the thickness of PMMA brushes was achieved in CuBr/PMDETA than in CuC1/HMTETA due to higher activity and better reversibility of the former system.展开更多

An ?OH plasma generator, which has a thin plate discharge Ag electrode covered by two α-Al2 O3 dielectric layers, is built. The plasma generator is filled with O2 and gaseous H2 O and is powered by a homemade power supply. ?OH radicals are generated by a series of plasma reactions and then dissolved into ballast water to kill microalgae. The maximum density of the killed microalgae is about 11 000 cells per milliliter. At this density, the microalgae are not reactivated at the 48th hour and the 120th hour in the treated ballast waters, and the content of chlorophyll in these microalgae decreases by 100%. The water quality returns to a normal level after 120 hours without secondary pollution of aquatic organisms and environment. These results show that the requirements of the D-2 ballast water discharge standard defined by the International Maritime Organization(IMO) are satisfied with the proposed treatment, and that ·OH is an ideal substance for killing microalgae during ballast water replacement of ships.展开更多

The whole blood glutathione peroxidase (GSH-px) and catalase (CAT) activities, free radicals (FR) concentration, erythrocyte superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and molonaldehyde (MDA) concentration, the serum triiodothyronine (T 3)、thyroxine (T 4) and thyrotropin (TSH) were determined on the day of supplementation day-0 and day-30, respectively. It was showed that average iodine concentration in drinking water and diet were 3.82 μg·L -1 and 0.285mg·kg -1 , respectively, Diet selenium was 0.0498mg·kg -1 , Serum protein bound iodine(PBI) was 7.02 μg·100 mL, Blood selenium was 0.14 mg·L -1 , the schoolchildren′s goiter was 21.8%. It indicated that iodine and selenium were deficient in the investigated area. Whole blood GSH-px and CAT activities and serum T 3 concentration were significantly higher (P< 0.01 ), FR concentration and serum TSH were significantly lower(P<0.01) in the first three groups than that of the control, T 4 content in the first group was higher(P<0.05), T 4 was also higher (P>0.05) in the second group. and lower in the third group. The SOD and MDA in erythrocyte were not changed during the experimental period, The results also showed that GSH-px and CAT activities were increased, and FR decreased oberviously in the third group more than the other two groups, In addition, Thyroid hormone metabolism was more coincided with the physiologic status in the third group. the iodine and the selenium played an important role in the pathologic process of free radical metabolic disorder. selenium not only had the function of antioxidation by derectly scavenging free radicals, but also affected through GSH-px and CAT activities. iodine deficiency results in the Goiter, selenium deficiency aggravated iodine deficiency, Iodine and the selenium were dependent and restrained each other in the course of free radicals and thyroid hormone metabolism with a synergistic state.展开更多
