摘要
中国典籍的翻译是促进中国文化走向世界的一个重要途径,《论语》作为儒家经典代表性的作品,其翻译和宣传推广可扩大中国经典著作在海外的知名度和影响力。然而,《论语》现存英译本较多,本文则选取其中极具中西方代表的译者——理雅各和辜鸿铭的英译本,从成书背景与翻译动因、文体意义与翻译风格和译本评价这三个方面来进行对比,以期对之后的研究者和中国经典著作的对外译介工作有所启示。
Translation of Chinese Classics is an important way to promote Chinese culture to the outside world. As a masterpiece of Confucianism, the translation and promotion of Lun Yu can enhance the visibil-ity and influence of Chinese classics overseas. There are many existing English translation versions of Lun Yu. Hence, this paper researches to the English translations versions of James Legge and Ku Hung-ming, the most representative translators of the east and west respectively, and compares them in the following three aspects: the background and the motivation for translation, the style and the evaluation of the translation, with a view to provide insights for later researchers in the re-lated fields and the translation of Chinese classics abroad.
