Gender Differences in Higher Education Acquisition of Chinese Urban and Rural Residents

摘要 本文选取CGSS2018的最新数据来研究关于我国居民高等教育获得机会的性别差异化。关于教育的差异化研究,早已有许多结论产生,但是,随着时间的变迁,高等教育的性别差异化是否还像之前的那样明显值得我们去研究。本文使用的是Stata14.0的系统,利用logit模型进行分析,采用多个基础控制变量,包括户口(农村与非农村)、父辈教育程度、民族和家庭经济条件等因素,来共同研究这一现象。研究发现:城乡的性别差异依旧十分明显,而家庭经济条件对于教育性别的较小。 This paper selects the latest data of CGSS2018 to study the gender differentiation of Chinese resi-dents’ access to higher education opportunities. There have been many conclusions about the dif-ferentiation of education. However, with the change of time, whether the gender differentiation of higher education is still as obvious as before is worth studying. In this paper, Stata14.0 system is used, logit model is used for analysis, and multiple basic control variables, including household reg-istration (rural and non-rural), parents’ educational level, ethnicity and family economic conditions, are used to jointly study this phenomenon. It is found that the gender difference between urban and rural areas is still very obvious, and family economic conditions have little effect on educational gender.
