The article reviews the newdevelopment of the worldwide plastics additives industry in the past year.The industry has experienced a challenging year due to a difficult economic environment worldwide,with few excepˉtions like China.Some aspects,e.g.consolidation,innovation,investment to growing markets and regions,price increase,e-commerce,represent current characteristics of the industry.The article takes a glance on some new product development reported in the past year,covering antioxidants,light stabilizers,thermal stabilizers,impact modifiers,processing aids,lubricants,slip agents,flame retardants,antimicrobial agents,clarifying/nucleating aˉgents,surface modifiers etc.Legislation and environmental issues are also discussed.
