摘要
佛鉢作爲釋迦牟尼在世時的普通日常用具,在其涅槃後由中印度傅至中亞地區,進而傅至中國,從而擁有了不同尋常的意義。也就是説佛鉢從日常的食器成爲佛舍利的一種,成爲佛陀與佛法的符號與象徵,擁有了常人無法想象的功能。這一現象很早就引起了一些學者的濃厚興趣,法國漢學家西爾萬·列維(Sylvain Levi)可能是最早對佛鉢進行研究的學者。
Based on the rich Chinese materials(including Buddhist and nonBuddhist),this paper reanalyses the process of disseminaton of the Buddha’s Begging Bowl Cult from India to Central Asia and China. It argues that the cult of the Buddha’s Begging Bowl in the Central Asia is the very important stage of the whole process and Chinese materials are very important for researching it. The study of the Cult of the Buddha’s Begging Bowl in medieval China have made little progress because of limited materials which have been found, and we believe this situation will change a lot in the future.
