In 1997, the industry believed that combining PET bottle blowing with the filling/capping phase was impossible, but Sidel took on that challenge. The first Combi resulted from this notion of combining the three key steps to packaging liquids in PET bottles within a single enclosure. Sidel sought to optimize yield, completely control conditions for hygienic packaging, and reduce the equipment's overall footprint. Now, seven years later, the concept has clearly taken hold in all liquid food markets on all continents. Today, Sidel is celebrating the delivery of its 100th Combi machine.
