摘要
Based upon an introduction to package limitation in the three main transport treaties and historical origin and justification of package limitation,this paper analyses the basis of the limitation amount;limitation for losses caused by delay;loss of the benefit of limitation of liability and loss of the right to limit and deck cargo as well as time for suit under the Rotterdam Rules.The author concludes that the Rotterdam Rules are rather conservative in their approach and the drafters had not in mind coming up with an entirely new and revolutionary system.
