摘要
明廷为经略西域、稳固西北边疆置哈密卫,并封蒙古贵族为忠顺王,使其履行藩屏甘肃、领袖西域、引导朝贡以及传递夷情的职责。明代天顺年间,哈密忠顺王绝嗣,导致哈密卫长期处于无主状态,并无法正常地发挥其羁縻卫所的作用。明代哈密危机的爆发,除了有土鲁番的崛起并逐渐东进的因素以外,哈密忠顺王的绝嗣以及明廷对此问题的处置失当也是一个重要因素。
To administer the Western Regions and stabilize the northwest frontier,the Ming Court set up the Hami Guard Command and conferred King Zhongshun upon Mongolian nobilities,entrusting him with duties of safeguarding Gansu,leading the Western Regions,guiding tributary missions and relaying the intelligence of minorities.During the reign of Tianshun in the Ming Dynasty,King Zhongshun of Hami passed away without descendants,rendering the Hami Guard Command leaderless for an extended period and fail to effectively fulfill its function as a Jimi Command.The outbreak of Hami crisis was attributed not only to the rise and eastward expansion of Turpan but also to the extinction of King Zhongshun's Lineage and the Ming court's improper disposal of this issue.
