摘要
孟加拉语长篇历史小说《那时候》展现了孟加拉文艺复兴背景下,1840年至1870年英国殖民统治的孟加拉地区社会文化变革和知识分子的觉醒。小说以时间为主角,在史实基础上将真实事件和虚构故事编织在一起,用虚构人物与时代人物共同串联起宏大的历史叙事。小说反映了不同群体的民族意识和文化立场,显示这一从城市波及农村的时代潮流不仅实现了孟加拉语文学的现代转型,而且催生了现代国家观念的萌芽和民族主义力量。
The Bengali historical novel Sei Samaya explores the socio-cultural transformation and intellectual awakening in the Bengal region under British colonial rule from 1840 to 1870,within the context of the“Bengal Renaissance”.With time as its central theme,this novel interweaves historical events with imaginary stories,connecting fictional characters and historical figures to create a grand historical narrative.The novel reflects the national awareness and cultural standpoints of different social groups.It reveals that this Zeitgeist,extending from urban centers to rural landscapes,not only facilitated the modernization of the Bengali language and literature but also fostered the nascent development of modern national identity and the emergence of nationalist sentiments.
