This study introduces a tea tray design called“Qinglan,”inspired by the layout and yin-yang principles of Hakka enclosed dwellings. The design explores sustainable practices by combining cultural heritage and harmony with nature. The tray's form and function reflect the structure of the“land-based house”and“waterfront”in Hakka architecture, incorporating ecological wisdom. The paper analyzes material choice, functionality, and production methods, focusing on sustainability aspects like resource efficiency, carbon footprint reduction, and extended product lifespan. The results show that the design blends culture and nature, providing a new direction for sustainable design in cultural products.User testing indicates the tray is well-received for its cultural value and environmental awareness, meeting consumer demand for products that combine culture and sustainability.
