摘要
《了不起的盖茨比》与《嘉莉妹妹》这两部经典小说,讲述了盖茨比、黛西、嘉莉和赫斯渥等主人公的逐梦历程与爱情境遇,反映了当时人们追求梦想却以悲剧告终,体现了梦想的演变与幻灭。笔者从作品概述、不同爱情观的呈现等方面展开论述,揭示在财富与地位主宰一切的社会文化背景下,秉持物质化爱情观的人无法获得真正的幸福和实现梦想,同时阐述了其基于此的现代现实意义。
The Great Gatsby"and"Sister Carrie"are two classic novels that tell the story of the dreams and love experiences of protagonists such as Gatsby,Daisy,Carrie,and Hurstwood.They reflect the tragic end of people's pursuit of dreams at that time and the evolution and disillusionment of dreams.The author elaborates on the overview of the work and the presentation of different views on love,revealing that in the social and cultural context where wealth and status dominate everything,people who uphold a materialistic view of love cannot achieve true happiness and realize their dreams.At the same time,the author elaborates on its modern practical significance based on this.
