摘要
晚清学者刘熙载《艺概》一书,作为一部持论通达的文艺理论著作而深受学界推崇。其中《文概》部分,论先秦至南宋古文,尤重先秦两汉史家之文。史家之文的本质在于通过叙事达到扬善惩恶的目的,这也就意味着史官必须秉持一定的叙事观念来讲述故事。《文概》对此有深入论述,总括而言,体现为以下三个方面:(1)对叙事“主意”的推崇;(2)对“以万物为我”的叙事境界的高扬;(3)对多样叙事技法的总结。这些叙事观念在后世史传文学、散文、小说、戏曲等文体上,得到了极大的传承与发扬,而它恰好印证了中国自古以来文史不分的传统。
LIU Xizai,a scholar in the late Qing Dynasty,wrote a book called Art Summary,as a work of literary theory with a well-informed argument,it was highly respected by the academic circle.Among them,the part of Ancient Prose Summary discussed the ancient literature from the Pre-Qin Dynasty to the Southern Song Dynasty,with a particular emphasis on the writings of ancient Chinese historians in the Pre-Qin and Western Han and Eastern Han Dynasties.The essence of a historian's writing was the purpose of promoting good and punishing evil through narration,which means that the historian had to hold a certain narrative concept to tell the story.Ancient Prose Summary had an indepth discussion on this,in summary,embodied in the following three aspects:firstly,the praise of narrative"idea";secondly,the exaltation of the narrative realm of"making everything serve me";thirdly,the summary of various narrative techniques.These narrative concepts have been greatly inherited and carried forward in the later generations of historical literature,prose,fiction,drama and other genres,which happens to confirm the traditional Chinese practice of integrating literature and history.
