摘要
英国殖民者对尼日利亚早期工业化的影响是其对非洲经济转变影响的缩影,也是其他殖民者影响的缩影。尼日利亚殖民地政府先后实行间接统治和地方自治的政治制度,以便维护所谓的“开放经济”。该经济形式摧毁了当地工业传统并且遏制了新工业趋势。第二次世界大战后在民族主义者的敦促下,尼日利亚迎来早期工业化的高潮,但难掩其有增长无发展的本质特征。包括尼日利亚在内的非洲各地唯有打破殖民者框定的“开放经济”,扭转殖民主义对非洲经济的不合理改造,才能推动工业的大发展。
The influence of British colonists on the early industrialization of Nigeria is a microcosm of its impact on the economic transformation of Africa,as well as a microcosm of other colonists'impact.The colonial government of Nigeria successively adopted the political system of the"indirect rule"and the"local rule"in order to maintain the so-called"open economy".The economy destroyed the local industrial traditions and suppressed the new industrial trends.Urged by nationalists after World WarⅡ,Nigeria ushered in an upsurge of early industrialization,but it was hard to avoid its growth without development.Only by breaking the"open economy"defined by colonists and reversing the unreasonable transformation of African economy caused by colonialism,the African countries including Nigeria would be able to promote the real development of industry.
