摘要
消费是畅通国内大循环的关键环节和重要引擎,在构建国内国际双循环相互促进的新发展格局背景下,本文研究了消费对出口产品质量的影响及作用机制。基于中国制造业微观企业数据,本文实证考察了国内消费升级对制造业企业出口产品质量的影响。研究结论显示,消费规模扩大和消费结构升级显著促进了企业出口产品质量的提高,并且该结论通过了一系列稳健性检验;消费升级对企业出口产品质量的影响因企业所有制、贸易方式、所在地区、所处行业的不同而具有显著的异质性。机制检验表明,消费升级通过市场竞争效应、进口中间品效应和技术创新效应促进企业出口产品质量提高。此外,消费升级对企业出口产品质量的影响受到地区互联网普及率、制度环境及数字普惠金融发展的制约。本研究拓展了出口产品质量影响因素的研究边界,对于我国如何在贸易保护主义增强的背景下实现国内国际“双循环”相互联动和出口贸易高质量发展具有较强的现实意义。
In the context of building a new development pattern in which domestic and international dual circulation promotes each other,this paper studies the impact of consumption on the quality of exports and its mechanisms.Based on the firm-level data of China's manufacturing industry from 2001 to 2013,this paper empirically examines the impact of domestic consumption upgrades on the quality of manufacturing enterprises'exports.First,the benchmark test shows that the expansion of consumption scale and the upgrading of consumption structure can significantly promote the quality of exports.Second,the heterogeneous analysis shows the promotion impacts of consumption upgrading on the quality of exports depends on the enterprises'trade mode,ownership,region and industry.Third,the mechanism analysis reveals that consumption upgrading promotes export product quality through market competition effect,imported intermediate goods effect and technological innovation effect.In addition,the impact of consumption upgrading on the quality of exports is mediated by the regional Internet penetration rate,institutional environment and digital financial inclusion.This study broadens the research boundary of the factors influencing exports quality,and has strong practical significance for how China can realize the mutual linkage of domestic and international"dual circulation"and high-quality development of export trade in the context of increasing trade protectionism.
