摘要
元话语是社会互动中频繁使用的一种语言现象,使用不当会影响正常交流,使用得当有助于提升话语效果,有利于调解和制衡话语权势关系。尽管国内外对元话语的研究成果颇丰,但是依然有拓展余地,如对元话语人际意义是如何生成的讨论,对不同语言尤其是汉语元话语及其人际意义的探究等。本文在系统功能语言学范式下,在韩礼德的功能语法和马丁的语篇语义观的基础上,以汉语为语料,讨论元话语与命题句的区别,考察元话语在大语篇中的人际意义。研究发现,不同的元话语在左右受众对命题句意义的理解上有不同的语言手段,从而生成不同的人际意义。
Metadiscourse,frequently used in our communication,plays an important role in enhancing rhetoric effects as well as in re-gulating and balancing the discursive power among interlocutors.Though quite a few influential achievements have been made in this field,two areas of study need further exploration:the interpersonal meaning of metadiscourse and metadiscourse in languages other than English.This research examines metadiscourse markers in Mandarin and the interpersonal meanings which are produced.The analysis is based on a text which represents a case of mediation.In this research,I distinguish metadiscourse mar-kers from the propositional content per se in the clause and explore the interpersonal meanings of the markers from Halliday's function grammar combined with Martin's Discourse Semantic Model.The findings from this analysis suggests that metadiscourse resources may have any of the three metafunctions of ideational,interpersonal and textual,yet the ultimate meaning is interperso-nal,for the ideational and the textual are charged with interpersonal due to contextual influences,and that the overall interperso-nal meaning of metadiscourse resources manipulates the proposition of the clause and controls the audience in their interpretation of the proposition via framing and navigating.
