摘要
在多种版本的《世界设计史》中,椅子一直是出场频率颇高的设计作品。在大卫瑞兹曼《现代设计史》一书的插图中,就有出自历代设计师之手的65种材质不同、造型各异的椅子。如果把关于这些椅子的文字与图像内容裁取出来,就能组成一部由历代椅子设计中的经典作品构成的别出心裁的设计史,我们能够从中感知古往今来的设计文化、设计美学、设计风潮留下的历史痕迹。不少著名设计师将设计椅子的能力当作评估设计才能的重要依据。某些椅子设计经典已经不再是实用的坐具,而成为某种抽象的、概念性的、风格化或意识形态化的载体,或作为威权之象征。只有那些在手法、技巧、风格、流派等方面具有独创性、典范性、时代性的设计作品才可能成为经典,而博物馆收藏、典籍著录等是设计作品经典化的主要途径。
In various editions of History of World Design, the chair has always been a design work with high frequency. In the illustrations of David Rezman's History of Modern Design, there are 65 kinds of chairs with different materials and shapes from the hands of designers of all ages. If the words and images about these chairs were exclusively edited, a unique chair design history composed of the classics of past dynasties would be formed, from which we can feel the historical traces left by the design culture, design aesthetics and design trends of all ages. Many famous designers regard the ability to design chairs as an important basis for their design talents. Some classic chairs are no longer practical seats, but become some abstract, conceptual, stylized or ideological carriers, such as symbols of authority, aesthetic style or ideological carriers. Only those design works that are original, exemplary, and contemporary in terms of techniques, skills, styles, and genres can become classics, and museum collections and classics inclusion are the main ways to classicize design works.
